Found an engine yesterday

Great score......just curious what the VIN number on the block is?

Sirelan 67 how about the VINs on the 2 blocks you snagged?

What a score!

I found a 340 in Scotland of all places. Had to buy it right enough but it was not even on the market, the seller just happened to drop into conversation he had one lying around. Snapped that up and its now in my Aussie Charger. :D

Did it have the steel head gaskets in it or composite? Any virgin engine that I have opened had steel bead gaskets....

The head gaskets both had the metal crush bead/ring around bores.

Vin on the 71 block is basically not legible, too much corrosion.
The other engine my cousin has, but it did have adjustable valve train.

There was two AARs on the property along with alot of big block cars, way too many 340 cars, his dad told me once that small block cars were parts cars for his big block cars, mostly all E-bodys a couple of dozen of them.

There is a nice formula s 340 car that you can jump in and drive that is all original paint, that he might sell, but his prices are high.
