fuel tank sender unit

I have just installed a new sender unit into my Valiant Charger build here in Australia. There are two tabs on the unit and Im not sure which is power and which is earth, as per pic. any ideas?

Do you still have your original?

If you do. Do not toss it. You may find that the new replacement is so inaccurate that it is worthless.

Unless your old one is rusted beyond repair.
 
Normally the sender grounds to the tank (no wire) with one "hot" wire (not really a "hot" but a ground). Don't forget the ground strap on the fuel line.
 
A sender with a ground wire on it doesn't require the ground jumper on the fuel line. The sender doesn't have the same stud for push on positive connector that we have either.
I wish we had seen if this sender is exact reproduction of OEM before it was installed.

You need to turn the lock ring a little more. It isn't in the locked position.
