Anyone can join and list something for sale, and when they sell a part and it's junk what do you do then? Thats why I thought a post count is a good idea...I would buy something from MeMike tomorrow knowing he has so many post compared to someone who just signed up?
Thank you HAUK67 8-), There is a few things that most members or anymember can find out about me :coffee2: Where I liv and when I do sell something I bring my post count up becouse I fallow up on my parts I have sold with pictures of how it is packed and when it is going out...
When I see something up for sale the first thing I do is search for the member's THREADS STARTED!! and if they did not take the time to post in the welcome wagon thread I ask them to and let them know there is no lacation in your profile or there parts for sale thread by pm.
I learned this the hard and costly way, but I won't go there in this post 8-)

Life is good when I have a smile on and I like sharring it :D
Your FABO post ***** me :coffee2:
I hope I have not hit that report button to many time :toothy1:

just an idea
what if members needed to be approved before they could start new threads in the for sale section, perhaps providing a real name and address, could be a requirement,
with a zero tolerance policy, if your ad doesn't meet the guidelines, approval is revoked

Zero tolerance? Gotta disagree,it's a bit harsh.

why? if you cant follow the rules you cant post new for sale threads, whats wrong with that?

not talking about banning anyone, just revoking their permission to post any more threads in the for sale section, how is that harsh?

Not a bad idea but it would be a lot of work for someone to do the vetteing, and real name and address on an open thread is just inviting spammers and crack pots.
No they can follow the rules or else!!!!!!!!!!!

Well zero tolerance is used on the playground for bullying. Somehow I just dont feel the same about an ad on Fabo..

I was thinking the name and address (possibly a phone number) would be kept on record somewhere, not posted on the sale ad, just that when some one has to give information like that first, they will take selling here more seriously, so it could help keep people honest

Some of these ideas are going to complicate things way to much, follow the rules are the add gets pulled, pretty simple concept. Repeat offenders should get a vacation........Don't know if anybody else does it but whenever I see an add with a phone # I report it. Not to get the person in trouble but it is just not a real good idea to put your phone # on a forum. If you are a business that is one thng.

It would be nice if there was a requirement, in your profile, to state your location too......city, state, and country. It would probably save a lot of time and PM's if you knew this info. Stating a location as....on the couch.... or .....in the garage.... is pretty useless and really not all that funny if that was the intent. It would help those of us who only buy and sell in certain areas not waste everyone's time.
Thanks, Mark

on their profile under "about me" you can find the zip code, then you can just google it to find the location

Okay gentleman, we are not re-engineering the "for sale" forum other than what was mentioned in this thread originally. Ya got what ya got.

Rules are rules. I know ihave made a few mistakes and was informed about it. I had no problems with being told. Being new here and to the whole restore thing im learning as i go. This site is great and the last thing i want to do is do something thats not allowed. I thank anyone who has helped me and pointed out my mistakes. Edd
