I can't believe people stand that close to the racing surface, especially by the burnout box....

As you can see there was a big turn out
I was testing my camera on the tree on this shot

I agree stoked, Some one has been looking out for the folks there for 50 years now and no one has been hurt, I did see a man a few years back helping VHT the tires down and the back of the car knocked him into the fence

Looked Like A Blast Memike!! :d
I am glad I made it to the track for this day, it was over 60 F and sunny.
Allot of hugs and hand shakes with friends, There was not a dry eye there when the beginning prayers was told :love7:

Cool old time dragstrip! Kinda reminds me of those street racing days. Not that I EVER raced on the street...;)

Great thread Memike!
Glad to hear George Ray was there, if not in person, but in spirit.
His legacy carries on thanks to people like you.
Great pics and videos, thanks for sharing.
Not a dry eye here as well.
Tom.

I can,t believe they don,t enforce abit of safety, mainly a helmet? We,re not allowed to race in shorts or a T-shirt.I would hope the racers have enough sense to atleast wear a helmet.Funny redneck gussleing his beer in a cloud of rubber smoke!LOL

P.S You sure did get me thinking Mike!

I seen that fellow downing his beer in tire smoke :toothy10:
If you run 8.0 a helmet is the track rules and a role bar for the 7.0 down.
Yep :-D it's about as old school as it gets :toothy10:
