Reading all of these posts really, really makes me glad I live in Ohio.
Historic Vehicle basic plates are $25 and are good for 50 YEARS. That's not a typo, they're good for 50 years. You can "marry" a year tag (in Ohio they only go up to 1974) to your historic tag for no charge. No log books, nothing. You're not supposed to the car as a daily driver, but there is no limit on mileage at all.
No annual property taxes to pay to get tags either. You only pay sales tax when you buy your car.
I was bitching because the tag fee on my truck was $82 while my cars was $45.
I can't see Ohio pulling that kind of stunt in the near future, there was nearly a lynching when they tried to pull E-Check a few years back. It was eliminated in Ohio except in Cleveland.
