Issue with Exhaust manifold

-
Hedman and other brand cheap junk headers.
I can confirm, Hedman is cheap junk. I've wasted too much time just trying to get them to fit properly on cylinder heads. Uneven flanges and booger welds require too much repair just to get them to work.

Stock 318, the stock cast iron manifolds are your best choice. Just go with dual exhaust. As mentioned, your driver side manifold is not an A-body part. More like B/C body.

And why is that? I mean, is it even some kind of performance thing, where you put a B- or C-body manifold on an A-body ?

No, it's just a matter of how it fits. Neither one is a performance manifold. A stock 2bbl 318 isn't a performance engine, so, they work together just fine.

I mean, the issue hasn’t changed — it’s not plug-and-play, and I’m looking for something easier. I know someone who has a used one for sale for $200, so…

i wanted to put some long headers but i don't even have the space for it :

so even if i take some shorts one or long one, how am i supposed to install them ?

If I'm seeing correctly, your oil filter adapter is installed at the wrong angle. Should be facing toward the rear, just off the frame rail. I'm sure any headers will not fit, the way the filter is facing.
