So I started adding up what the metal and labor was going to run to patch this car up and I decided maybe get a parts car. Well I found a 1970 Mark Donohue SST Javelin.
It’s a rust free Arizona car so the new plan is to make the orange car the Parts Car and make the Green SST the car we build. So we just need to get it shipped here from Arizona. Hoping maybe they haven’t blasted the rest of body of the orange car yet….

Much better candidate for sure two make one not many left right!
 
So this is what the new car is. It’s a Mark Donahue model. About 2500 built. Ours was built with a 360, and there is a 360 piston and rod with a hole in it in the trunk. Ours is Glenn Green, the same as the one in the Jay Leno episode. We are going to put our back together as close to stock as possible…

 
My son Aaron made a run up to Walton NY to pickup a RamAir hood I bought for the project. These are getting pretty hard to find!!

Do they make a repop of the Donohue Rear lid Ducktail? I'm guessing finding an OEM one in good condition is next to impossible

The guy I bought the hood from has one “somewhere”. There is a hoarder situation going on there for sure.
 
So the color of our body is Glenn Green and that’s the color it’s going to stay.

We are expecting a passenger door shell in the next few days then the hood, valance and doors go up to be blasted.
 
Did your son ever think of a built up Mopar 360 like I have, it has about 350HP and 3.55 gears in the rear it is not a slouch and will make you feel the back of your seat.

The nicely put together 318 in our 74 Duster with 3.55 gears routinely surprises fellow hot rodders with more cubes! It’s scary quick and can torch the tires.
Its just that in the AMC world, the 401 is where it’s at!
