I got a pop up blocker on this page !!!!!!!!

Whenever I see a yard full of classics like this, I like the think about the original owners. How they felt driving their new car home for the first time, pulling into the driveway and the neighbors coming out to see it. Thats how it was in my neighborhood back then, someone would come home with a new car and everyone wanted to take a look at the new beauty.

that is because there was pride in ownership more so back then unlike the way it is now. you could go in and custom order your car the way you wanted it to be. now all you do is basically pick out the color you want.

WOW..............WOW............just speechless
I got excited when my local yard had a 73 Dart tucked way in the back.

Thanks for Sharing
I put a marker on this page - refer too often.

There are a lot of cool 50s cruisers there, and more than a few two-doors.

Nice pics, Mike.

There sure are some cool cars there. Would be great to see them all restored.

I especially like that white wagon with the roof racks.

Do you have any other pics of this car, the one behind the flame job?

I think the same thing. I wonder what each of them looked like on the dealer lots and what there new owners did with them.

Nice pics, JR and I need to come up there one of these days.

You really do need to get me out there one day Mike, run it by Joe sometime to see if he's ok with it. What's the story behind this anyway, how did he manage to aquire all these cars?

Well, he's a machinist by trade, he's an older guy now, but still gets a lot of people in asking for him to do work. He also used to be half owner of Cassidy Speedway. He has been into drag racing a lot too, used to race a late 50's 4 door Imperial up against the people in their Nova's and stuff, and was beating them all. He owns a 57 Desoto that has a 354 Hemi with dual 4 bbls, that car is near perfect, he is slowly working on it, added 4 wheel disc brakes, etc.
His daily drivers consist of a 74 Power Wagon, a 78 Cordoba, a 74 New Yorker 4 door, a 70's New Yorker station wagon, all these cars being original and near perfect mind you, and he just picked up a 91 Ram Charger, being the newest vehicle he owns, came with a 318 but he's dropping a 440 into it.

As for all the cars, most of them he owned at some point in time, the ones with roll cages he either raced or built for someone to race, most of those have 'Thanks Joe' written on the side somewhere, but a lot of them people have just givin him because being at his place they will never get crushed. Sure a lot are sitting rotting away, but there are plenty there he will sell, he sells a ton of parts to people, he probably has 40 1st Gen Hemi's collected in one spot, he shoved a 392 Hemi into a 56 Front end loader that he uses on a daily basis (that thing is nuts..), and he also has a thing for Caddilacs. But mainly big block Chryslers. If you look through that yard you will see maybe.. 4 small block cars. The best part is.. you could stand and talk with him for days and your brain would be so boggled with information and he could keep on going. He is incredibly intelligent.

You mean this one?

As for the wagon, that's one I've definatly been wanting to pick up soon. I don't think his price will be too bad since I know him quite well.

I once wanted this 65 Windsor, running 383, mint interior, and he said $125.

Hey Mike, we're going to have to set up a time when Rob, you and I can get together and venture over there. I have yet to actually meet anyone from the board in person. (And if I have, sorry, don't mean to forget people, lol)

I've always been a big fan of wagons. And that one just looks TOOOO cool.

I like that pinkish Savoy, too. That would look sweet all done up in a nice two-tone paint.

The only hard part is talking the better half into storing another vehicle in the yard. Maybe she wouldn't notice :-D.

let me know if the one I posted about is available. I have always wanted a 4 door cruiser..
