2 weeks ago i had issues & ran a 13.07, this was with the 3310 carb & timing at 26+, i installed a 650dp with 70/76 jets & bumped the timing up to 30*, drove to the track looking for that 12.9 slip, 12.8s would have been great, well heres what it did. The 1st. pass was on a Pro Tree :toothy10:.

1st. pass i let off just after the 1000ft., was just looking for a baseline 1/8.
2nd. pass was a full run, spun a alittle.
3rd. & last run.

you could have stayed at the tree for another second and still beat him, good times, reaction times are real good, maybe to good on the last one LOL

It's always fun to go faster then before, no matter how fast your going.
great job :thumbrig:

It turned out to be a great night for racing, cool front blew through, drop the temps enough to wear hoodies, there was a good 200+ cars racing, this will be the last really good night untill next fall.

I love those red lights. It reminds me of Christmas. Tell us a little about your engine combo. Sure seems to run well.

Just a basic 360 magnum, stock short block with a few miles on it, RHS heads, a bullet re-grind (.477/.477, .218/.218 @50), stock pushrods/rockers & lifters, crosswind RPM, 650dp, summit headers, 2.1/4" exhaust, summit mufflers, 11" PTC 2800, 904, spooled 3.73s, 255/60/15 MT DRs.

Good running combo, Mr. Dust!

Now, aren't you curious what it would take to get that 11.9x timeslip, driving to and from the track???

Nah, i had a 10.9 car that was streetable, just never licenced it, i'll be shooting for 11.5s (or better) with this combo, 100/125 shot otta do it, thats if the suspention & tires will hold it, which is questionable now.

Man that's inspiring. Great runs!! Mid 12's is nice...!

My Scamp I just got has a stock '04 Magnum 360 from a Dodge truck w/ an Edelbrock Air-Gap and 650 Demon and runs great. Best pass by PO was 13.8. It's got 235/60/15 MT drag radials and 4.30 Sure Grip, 904 w/ PTC 9.5" convertor & 3" Flowmasters cut off at rear axle (soon to be 2 1/2" Summit Turbo's all the way back to quiet it down a bit for the street). I would hope I could maybe get a taller tire (like a 255/60) and maybe switch to 3.91's and run low 13's or high 12's. Motor is completely stock though...and PO said it was done by 1000ft mark w/ the 4.30's. Your combo w/ the heads and cam is a little more stout than my stock motor.

Hey Joe - Just thought of something else. You happen to have an exhaust clip of your car? Like in my previous post, I'm switching from 3" Flowmasters cut off before the axle to 2 1/2" Summit Turbo's w/ a X style crossover and hope to run it all the way back if I can get tailpipes to clear my elec. fuel pump and lines. Would love to hear what they sound like...?

Joedust,
I just read what cam and cylinder head your running.
That 360 has got to have some high cylinder pressure because of the cam and those good flowing heads make it a torque monster i bet.

If you know what the engine has for cylinder pressure, can you post it here so i can get that info.
I have been thinking of advancing my cam in my 360 or cutting the heads to get more cylinder pressure in the motor.

Does this motor ping at all???? RUN'S GREAT FOR THAT SIZE CAM.

Thanks guys, at this point i've been told by several that the timing should come up from 30* to about 35*, when i get back to the track i'll make a baseline run or 2, then increase the timing in 2* increments, then i may try some 78 jets in back, i'm still running a solid 7 blade fan, thats robbing alittle there, plus i may install some dumps, i would try a larger carb but i'll bet it hurts the 60ft., so i'm just going to do some blending on this 650 so it'll flow a bit more.

I'll check cyl. pressure, but i'll bet its not that high, these heads are based on the same CC chamber as the factory irons, plus the cam is bigger then stock, so i'm sure its less then it was factory on cranking pressure, i'm running 87 octane with no pinging, even under light throttle its good, timeings all in at 2300.

I'll be shooting for that 7.99 1/8 now, but i'm sure it won't happen untill next fall, but who knows. :toothy10:
