A while back I bought a sport mirror on this site. Listed for a 70 Duster. I set it next to a 73 and the cable was shorter. I stated in a post that 70 and 73 duster were different length cables because the one I bought was a shorter cable. Member "QuickBpBp" told me when he was here that all sport body style cars took the same mirror. That the one I had was from a 70 wing window car.

Today I went and picked one up from him from a 70 Duster . Before I left I took the short cable mirror to the garage and tried it on the brown Duster. No way was it fitting. The cable was way to short. The only car this painted sport mirror will fit is a wing window car. So I stand corrected by "QuickBpBp" He is right. They must have offered sport mirrors on 70 Darts , Roadrunners , Or Super Bees. Where else would this mirror I bought as a Duster mirror be from.

The cable length for a sport style is 25" the other Wing window style is 18"

You learn something new everyday on these old Mopars. I never heard of or saw a sport mirror on any wing window car back then. Thanks for the Mirror The price was great the mirror is perfect. I am saving this one for the Demon. Steve

I know the feeling, I've been working on them since 1978, and yesterday found that regular wiper blades won't work on a 1970 to 74 Cuda without hitting the hood, I've owned 6 E-bodys over the years and never remember having this problem before, today's replacement wipers sit taller, ordered some for a Cuda so hopefully they will be like the old original when they arrive.

Good to know, thanx

Sport mirrors were available on 70 Chargers as well... but I only know of 2 cars with them personally .
I beliveve you could get them on a Sport Fury as well.

And rear seat shoulder belts back to 68, ABS brakes on a 71 Imperial , Sunroofs in late 69 , auto headlight dimmers in the 50s...

I have been searching all morning for any pictures of a sport mirror mounted on a a wing window car from the factory in 1970. I want to see where it would be mounted so not to interfere with the wing window. I cannot find one picture with a factory sport mirror?

Any wing window cars out there with factory mounted sport mirrors? I know they must be out there . I have a mirror that will only work on a wing window car. I would like to see a picture of one on a car. Any 1970 car will do.

Here is the same style mirror I have it does not fit a Duster or Demon or Dart sport the cable is 7 inches to short.

E-Body Primer Info

There is a white 70 Charger R/T in PA with sport mirrors and a Go-Wing. It belonged to a friend of mines dad. He bought it new... I am sure some of you PA guys have seen it at shows over the last 4 decades.

Would it be possible to change the cable to the longer style one?
Just typing out loud here..........
