My search for a shorty D100 is over

@TT5.9mag what torque converter and stall speed is in that 46RE? I went back through and did not find it listed. Wondering what you have in there and how it feels in regular driving around and regular accelerating from a stop?

I had this transmission built in 2015 by my trans builder and it was specced by him for the application I gave him at the time. Which was a twin turbo magnum in a dart. He built the torque converter (or had it built by his converter guy) from a stock core that I gave him. Honestly I do not remember the specs on it. And I called him a week ago to ask about it and he laughed at me. We found the receipts from when he built it and all of the trans build info but no specs on the converter. Sorry. It honestly drives awesome at light throttle and light acceleration, you can tell it has “some” converter in it but it acts very stock. When I floorboard it, it stalls up a bit, then the tires spin. I do not have a tach in the truck so I can’t even say what rpm anything is happening. Seems to cruise very nice and stall up when I need it and lock up and drive nice at higher speeds. Wish I could tell you more about it.

I hate to say it, but @volaredon was absolutely right.

Stopped by @TT5.9mag place last night and got a ride in the d100. That truck is absolutely ruined. I rode in it when it was stock so I can make a fair/accurate assessment of the before and after lowering ride quality. I mean, after lowering it, it’s just so much easier to get into, it rides EXACTLY how it did before being lowered. Just ruined a perfectly good truck.:mob:
well... i'll be seeing it in a few days to render judgement as well.

and while i respect your opinion, i shall insist turbomike wheel me around the block before making a final assessment.

Hell you can take it around the block and tell me. I tried to give the keys to Chris and he declined.

Wear your fanciest attire. You’ll feel bad getting in that truck with how nice the inside is. I almost got in the bed for my ride in it.

Wait, what?
You’ll need a whole lot more material covering up that raccoon *** than a sequined G string to get in my truck.

This thing would be so sweet to tow my Valiant to the track with. Awesome job!!
Thanks. I didn’t plan it but a few people have asked if I built a white D100 with blue interior to tow my white 70 dart with blue interior.

Not exactly sure why just yet, but we just drove the truck to O’reillys and back and lost the transmission. It’s basically all neutrals at this point. It will sluggishly drop in to first or reverse occasionally and lightly revving will move the truck but I just shut it off and parked it and walked away.

I guess not towing the dart
Maybe the dart can tow the truck
Maybe pump failed

That's why I never wax my old truck. Jinx'd Hope your out there now thrashing trying to make the show. Good luck!

Thats why the shop truck is staying with a slant and 3 spd......so I don't have to walk

Nope I’m at the fling without the truck. Looking for more parts.

Had a busy week at work and only had a few hours to work on the truck. But yesterday hit it hard. Figures the day I have to work on it was the hottest day of the year so far. Oh well the transmission is out and on the garage floor, it will go to the shop sometime this week for full diagnosis. Working on a truck is awesome because of the built in storage. Y’all should get one.
