Those cars were so badass, but why did they have such a GHEY name? lol

I loved my 240. It was a 70 with a 5/69 build date. I miss that car. Numbers matchin too.

That Saab is cool.

'69 1/2 / '70 Fairlady Z 432. DOHC hemi, crossflow, tripple weber DCOE's from the factory, manual choke, hand throttle control and a five speed, right hand drive.

Two choices,for me.
1,the wicked street racer.Have a thing,for gonzo 427. FE's.Here's the actual recipe..
I just ran across an artical in an old Hot Rod mag.(July 1979).'72 Mavrick w/a 427 top-loader 4spd,5:14 gear, drums f/r ,weight2607,3mpg,10.79@123mph in qtr. mile, cost $11,000. It can be done.Just thought it was interesting. 10 sec. times with Mavrick DRUMS! Owners name:Nick Zuk,Wayne MI.
2nd choice: Gotta go 64 -72 Big block Chevelle/El Camino. So many good memories, around the Y2K era....

Mr.K, as the Nissan/Datsun world knows him, who was in charge of the Z projects actually had a thing for cross culture marketing.

All of the numerical names were for the western culture market and the other english names (Sunny, Bluebird, Fairlady) were for the eastern culture market.

The very first 500 of the Z cars actually came across in shipping with Fairlady badging. He had them removed before delivery and replaced the badging with 240Z plaques.

The numerical names, 510, 1600, 620, etc. Don't really do anything for me. The Z was used for it's recognition in the American performance world.

My Dodge Charger doesn't actually say Dodge on it anywhere. While I sort of feel robbed, I can't decide if they did it on purpose, although I wouldn't doubt it. I kind of like it.

I'm sure I have dozens other cars floating around the ol' cranium up there.....but today.....I'll say this one. 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder, the James Dean car. Mid-engine and 1350 lbs. No stinkin' top or side curtains needed. They're actually pretty cheap, used.....and usually very well kept.

Matt, a 65 split window Corvette would be a rare bird indeed, as the only year for that was 63. lol

1950 Mercury Coupe, with a stroked & blown first gen 392+ ci Hemi, Passon Performance 5speed, 4.56 geared Dana, 17" torque thruster D wheels with fatty tires and some sort of silver-black metallic paint job. -kinda like Cobretti/Stallone's in the movie Cobra.

I would drive around in blue jeans, white t shirts, and greased up hair in it. I would take ***** baths and sleep in that car for months- & never leave it. I would die in it at 150mph in it. I would sell a ******** and a hand to own it. I would cruise every inch of every road. When I wake up dead, I would just keep driving...

So look out for some old Navy coot with one hand, one ball and greasy hair.
