she works her Wally World job today. we are scheduled to ride some back roads Mon and have a pick nic! that's our 4th entertainment..... ha...

We have BIG plans.
Fixing the power steering leak and installing the new speedo cable on the Wife's Dart, and installing my new return fuel system on mine.
Tri Tip BBQ tonight.
Holidays suck to go anywhere anyway.

Working the whole long weekend...it's not even that busy for us to be open...but it's okay, still proud to be an American and have a better quality of life than most of the planet, and my poor a&& gets to hang out here with you guys...

It's all about your own perspective. When you live your life for someone else-it's all about theirs. Happiness- is what it means to you. Broke ***- rich ***, makes no difference because the word"if" can be used by anyone. Being content, now there is happiness! My granddaughter and I had big plans for this weekend but Murphy's law got involved and here I am. Enjoy what you can-it's not that hard!

No Big plans here either. Since we are empty nesters, We'll just hang here. Maybe go to my Sons Restaurant one evening before the end of the Holiday weekend. Don't like all the traffic and crowds. Been here in the area for 45yrs, and still never been to the Wash DC Fireworks, and have no plan to do so. Ya gotta be NUTS to go there!!

Dang, I wish I could work on my car all weekend. Just got my weekly paperwork done. Shower time and off to the bank. I have a Boston Butt soaking up a dry rub in the frig and will put it on the grill this afternoon with some wood chips. I will putz around here with a beer in my hand most of the afternoon while the smoke is rolling. Pulled pork for this weekend. Hey, maybe I will make a dozen or so deviled eggs. Sounds good. My oldest will work the 4th. at Granger. Triple time from what I understand. Have fun and enjoy your time off.

The harder I work, the more they suck out of me. I have an invitation to a cookout and watch the fireworks, but can't afford to make the 50 mile drive.

I find less is better. Sitting here waiting for my son to show up. Moving him across three sates if he ever gets here. Going to be a long couple days. Still I get to spend it with him . What more is there to enjoy from life but the simple things.

These days I do all I can to plan vacations outside of the holiday weekends. I don't like the crowds on the road, or at the destinations.

might I agree, yes... less is better. I finally learned in the old mopar hobby, do my cars like I want, own the ones I like, makes no difference if any one else cares for them. ( o k so I own a 62 Lancer (toad). ! ha

BBQ? yes Sun night, country ribs in crock, them finish off on the greill, along with some beer brats, sweet corn, and jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese, wrapped with bacon! and a cold Corona... yum!??????

I do hate crowds. I miss running the roads ( some) to horse shows, competitions, but don't care for what it costs and entails. maybe this fall. would love to go to Amarillo in Nov. for the working ranch horse cowboy rodeo finals. ( can ya spell spectator?).... maybe!?????

I have been trying to get down to 2 geldings. have the old stud yet to sell. the lookers just left with the 3 yr old filly in their trailer. walked right I like she had been doing it all her life! ( never been loaded) ... the buyers were actually daughter of my old shoer from n. mo. I havn't seen since '04. I priced her plenty cheap enough, but like the mopar hobby, that doesn't bring a rash of potential buyers to the place! ha

Our Kids are all in Colorado and West Virginia so my wife and I will just chill like we have since we retired. Because of my Diabetes I get few carbs to eat any more so I told her I just want some hamburgers and hotdogs with real buns and some chips and baked beans. Will probably try to do a little more work on the door panels I'm making for the Dart or polish some of the miles of stainless it has.Won't last too long as it gets up to as high as 107 inside my garage. Happy Birthday America...Lets make America great again.

When it's not fun anymore I quit again, and sometimes for years like this last time (4 years)
The cost kinda sucks but it's cheaper than getting another Mopar to fix up.

Drinking is somewhat fun, but the USEFUL limit is only a short way down the bottle, not at the bottom.

ha! yes one beer makes me sleepy! I love 1 cold one on a hot day after I have done anything that requires the mind of at least a gnat! I should have splurged this weekend and bought the makins for marguritas ( o k so I can't spell s***) but give me one, bowl of chips and picante, and I probably will entertain ya!? ha

I only drink beer, and 12-16 is my norm.
A 12 pack while doing computer work is nothing. (well, used to be)

As usual, I'm going to do whatever the heck I want! Helped a friend move today, gonna BBQ some chicken tonight, work on getting the RR ready for the Nats, tomorrow I'll change the oil in the bike and start parting out the 67 Cuda, Monday I'll take the fam to our little hometown fireworks if Nella is feeling up to it! She's been sick all week and in the hospital twice in the past 3 days!!

Ive spent most of the day clearing out my old Craftsman tool chest. Giving it to the little woman for her sewing endeavors. Took it all apart and cleaned it up. She is in the process of painting the base right now. I'll have to make drawer dividers when she's done. Could be pretty cool.. and i get to buy a new top chest for me!

My 2 oldest sons and I went golfing this morning, getting easier and easier to let them win. Tomorrow got a road trip planned with the wife, we do love to drive, just hate the traffic. Prolly change the trans speedo gear mon morn to work with the 3.55 and got a little bbq in the afternoon. God bless the USA and Happy Birthday!

Today i took the kiddos to a local small water park 424 person capacity. Its got a tube slide, small lazy river etc. Going to cook dogs n burgers over the fire pit (truck rim) monday night, take em monday night to see the fireworks in town Other than that, i will tinker on my project stuff all weekend long. Its my vacation too.
