Looking at my 3rd car for sale. 3rd times a charm. 7 hour trip, hope it's meets the vibe I'm getting. Checks all my boxes.

Father and son road trip leaving Friday at 4pm , crashing at truck stop ( son called dibs on sleeping in the bed of the truck.) And off to nourth carolina Saturday morning.. hopefully car in tow.

Ha. I should have looked page 2.

If you're leaving at 4pm, you'll be about 15 minutes west of Josh and I as we are finishing dinner and heading to SC for a Duster. We can almost have us a convoy. LOL

Safe travels to us both. We are doing the rest area or truck stop nap as well. Probably about midnight near the NC_SC border. If you see a maroon Megacab with a ratty looking flat trailer, say hello.

Shoooooot. That tit has been in the teens up here the last few nights. Gonna feel like a heat wave down there to us truck sleepers tonight.

Gonna be cold as a witch's tit in a brass bra sleepin in the bed of that truck this weekend.
I'd rather sleep in the dirt than the bed of a pickup. That's about the coldest place you could get in that situation. Raised, airflow under bed, no insulation, metal.. maybe with a -32 sleeping bag and an air pad under you, I guess. Making a living that required sleeping under the stars for most my life I have found that scratching a body sized hole in the dirt with about 3" parapet around you is as good as you're going to get.
A couple of years ago, ultra-lite camping hammocks became really popular. Some of the boys bought them and were very proud of how small they pack down and how it got them off the ground. Well, they eventually returned to ground sleeping when temps dipped low. Pickup bed is just a colder hammock.

With that being said, my son and I just got back from Arizona. We bought a 273 Commando engine from John (Dart4Forte). We usually just sleep in the cab but if there is a KOA around we will get one of their cabins. KOA club members get a discount. Also, if you are pulling a car it is more secure that an interstate hotel parking lot. I think it's around $60.

Father/ Son Mopar trips have been a huge part of our bonding. Good luck this weekend. Safe travels!
