There is a small resonator tucked under the fender. But yes right out the fender

That inter-cooler looks like it would work on 2 cars.

1 serious Q. Can't you use all silicone elbows? Or is the pressure from the flow too much.

I honestly know little about that end of the spectrum.
 
Hey, How about a pic of the master himself? I often wonder who is really behind the magic of these builds.
 
You can use silicone couplers. In my case the bend off the turbo I needed was to tight of a bend for a couple. Unfortunately for me everything has to function and be pleasing to the eye. Just like everything else on this build. I bought the trim ring for the exhaust. And we'll I hate it. Cheap P.O.S. so that will go on the scrap bucket.
Here is my next project. A thermostat housing. Well at least the start of one.

Was that chunk of aluminum in the initial budget.....or the suppliment?

At this point ....what difference does it make?

Nothing is this build was in the plan. LOL.
Bought a cheap exhaust flange off eBay. Hated it. So I fabricated this one today. Just some cheap black paint on it. It will get anodized black. Hardware is temporary. Didn't have any 8/32 button heads on hand today

That's exactly what I was thinking on that flange.....more tabs = more screws = more detail.

I agree that if you build something it should look as good as it functions. Italian philosophy.

I can tell by that block-o-billit, that the housing will follow suit. Mill on..................it's looking great!
 
I would like to make it a little thicker and some machine detail. The problem is the fender is slightly curved. It would need to have a program set up on a cnc to get what I really wanted to do and still machine in the curve to fit the fender. Now that I have a template. I still may get a hold of thge guy t bff at did the heat extractors to machine a flange. Depends on the cost
 
You don't think that the screws, and a little massaging over your knee will pull it tight? I bet you can make it work, since it's so thin on the circumference.

The piece o made is from 1/8 th inch aluminum. It had to be run through a slip roller to get the curve right. Anything thicker I think would need to be machined.
 
I concur, 1/8" on up and it starts getting rigid. May look better once you have paint on the car. Right now it stands out on that off white, so the profile may look less than appealing?

Dumb question. Can you make two and stack them? They will be bolted together anyway, so probably will appear seamless.
 
You could stack a couple up. Here is the shift boot trim ring. Thos is the same look i would like to have on the trim ring fir the exhaust flange. The one I made looks fine. But not quite what I had in mind. Vincent is stopping by tomorrow to take a look at what I want made. I can make just about anything at the shop. But pieces like this is better to send out.
Next project building a power steering pump bracket for the type 2 pump. One of the last big projects to do.

Purdy boot ring.

I still like the last flange you made. Not to thick and bulky. Simple and unobtrusive. Maybe less is more on the fender flange? Maybe mill a pattern 1/16" deep on that ring and call it good?

Your build....awesome that is. Just bored, so shouting out ideas. Thanks for your patience.
 
So half way done on the power steering mounting bracket. Now just need to build the second half to mount to the block.

Well another day another piece to the puzzle. Radiator came in today. It's fits like a glove. Had to rearrange the intercooler to Intake manifold tubing. But it worked out with out to much hassle. Got the 90 degree bend welded to the cold side of the turbo housing. Finally all the intercooler tubing is in place.
Now for my complain about mother mopar . Why in the hell would they mount the radiator crooked. The drivers side core support sits in 1/2 inch close to the motor than the passenger side. Not sure why they would do that
My car was a /6 car. But can't for the life of me can't see why they would do that. Things are really filling up the engine compartment.
Still need to run upper and lower hoses. Remote oil filter and finish up the power steering. A 4 inch tube still needs to be shoved in the some place for air intake. Oh and an electric fan and shroud. They should about fill it up.

Could it be the radiator mounting brackets. Looks like the driver side tab sticks out toward the front of the car.
