Yeppers. Been at it since it came home from storage at a buddies place about 3-4 weeks. The hardest part so far has been carefully reversing the rust on the main shell so it can be primered. Front fenders and hood have paint on them, so stripping and priming these will go pretty fast.

T56 is bolted up and the midplate conversion complete. Later this week, it'll get mounted to the 440 and the K frame and into the car it shall go!

Also, something cool. Years ago, I picked up this Indy Hurst shorty shifter lever for the 833 originally planned for the dart. It ended up being too short for what I wanted at the time. However, it fits the T56 perfectly and given the different mounting of the T56, it may be just perfect for the car.

New rims finally ordered. Man, that was a BITCH trying to decide what to order. Nothing special really. but I think they'll fit the look I'm after.

Went to the PRI show this week. Got several ideas that I think will work well with the dart. I may swap the seats out for something like these.

Oh and I got to meet these two guys

Not a fan of the side shoulder bolsters....I had smaller ones on the seats in my Duster and cut them off and had the seats recovered. I thought my build was long at 6 years including 2 years at paint jail....your at 5 1/2 last time I checked...better get busy.

Yep I agree, I need to pick up the pace. Although Mine ran into two kids and a lay off in that period too.

Kids and a layoff can definitely derail a car project.

Yep they can. Good news is that I think all the high dollar parts are acquired, so now it’s the nickel and dime phase.

So started working on finishing up the rear sheet metal swap. Had a wild idea while I was staring at the trunk lid trying to figure out how I wanted it. So I grabbed a spare trunk lid and decided to try something a bit radical. Definitely a work in progress. But I think you can see where I’m going with this.

I still expect to see a pair of 44dds when I come in this thread. I'm still disappointed when I don't.

ended up getting a different, virgin block and starting over. Decided not to pursue the guy in court. Costs were too risky and too high. Plus his brother in law is the judge in that county. I learned that after deciding against legal action.

that block according to 2 other shops is useable as is, but most of the work wasn’t done as billed. Wasn’t decked or line honed. Nor was it tanked. And if I tank it again, it’d have to be bored most likely so I figured just start with a new block. My new rotating assembly that the first shop balanced and assembled checked out good by both shops so I’m putting it in the virgin block when done
there’s some a few pages back. I’m actually having a graphic artist paint a pair of those on the hood scoop I have. I’ve got some cool ideas for the interior and exterior final detailing whenever I get to that point that will play on that pun quite well

I like the 440 Abody, what Kframe front suspension are you going to use?
I would be throwing as much aluminium at it as I could though and a good track oil pan.

My K frame is a fully optioned, Carl Gerst of Gerst Suspension built piece. Power rack, dual adjusting Viking Coil overs. Rear suspension is a piece mutually developed between myself and Gerst, then built by him. Its a 4 link parallel setup with a Watts link. Fully adjustable. with dual adjusting Coil Overs. Probably run a mildon road race pan.

Fiberglass bumpers, hood. aluminum heads, water pumps etc. I've got a calculation somewhere, I should be under or at 3,000 pounds when finished. I don't want to go to light since it will be street driven.
