Has anyone installed the 1 1/8" PST sway bar successfully? Im working on a 73 swinger with original tabbed LCA. It fits good on the LCA side but the front of the bar where it attaches to the K frame is roughly about 1/2" too far forward.
Negative, its perfectly straight. Entire front end is rebuilt, everything sitting where it should.
Have you measured then against the old ones? I mean in length.Has anyone installed the 1 1/8" PST sway bar successfully? Im working on a 73 swinger with original tabbed LCA. It fits good on the LCA side but the front of the bar where it attaches to the K frame is roughly about 1/2" too far forward.
I might guess that it could be a '70 B-body bar. I'm not sure about the width on those, though. Time to compare it to your originals.
In that second picture up there ^^^^ all you need to do is turn that whole bushing with the bracket toward the rear, line the bolts up, push it on pout the nuts on and tighten her down. That bar would be on my car.
That would force the bar back and there will be interference issues with the bar hitting the LCA. Looks like im going to use the front bolt that goes into the K frame and drill some new holes for the rear of the bushing mount. Its a shame because I was told this was a bolt on deal.
the poor quality fasteners thing is common, and evidently hasn't changed in like 50 yrs. I remember buying an Addco bar for my 64 Dart that long ago, and being appalled at the poor quality of the attaching parts. This problem has been solved by using the front brace mtg bolt to attach the sway bar bushing bracket. I drilled a new hole for the rear hole. Fits good like this but damn, why cant these aftermarket parts companys get their **** together and make something that actually fits.
Another gripe is the grade 2 hardware that came with the kit. Absolute crap.

Plenty of GM and Ford reproduction crap doesn't fit or looks like **** too.Simple. Because we don't drive Chevys. Nothing fits or works good for Mopar in the aftermarket across the board.
