Rat Style Muscle Cars

Here's my Rat Muscle Car

duster2.jpg

And my actual Rat Rod in progress: 37 Ford-chopped 6.5 inches and firewall has been cut back 4 inches. I am finishing up my 4 Link. If someone wants to check out more pics they can PM. I will forward you onto my build link, but everyone likes A Bodies right? No room for an old school Hot Rod eh? LOL

Once the 37's done I will be back on track with the Duster, but I am thinking of leaving the flat black fender and spots I covered rust on the roof, quarters, and tail section. Also, Steelies and beat up Dog Dishes.

Here's my patina machine. Should I shoot primer on it? Note the difference in shine between mine and the Charger behind me. toolman

I just bought this and I am going to race it as is, might shoot some clear over it.

Great job guys. You need some surface rust to be a true Rat Rod. I need to sand on mine to get some patina. lol

This is sort of why I didn't want to do the body and paint on my 68. If anything I kind of want to plastidip the chrome in gunmetal.

I'm planning to do the entire powertrain and interior, leave the all original patina for at least the first year before paint.

My car would probably fit in this category.
Except for safety items, i did this car on the cheap.
It'd definitely a 30 footer. I put this car together with what i had for under 5 grand.
I used lots of Krylon color match spray bombs. Passenger side is original paint, everything else was done with the spray bombs.
The pics hide lots of flaws! The tires, wheels, interior etc are all used and just cleaned up.
Check out my build thread for more info!

I kinda wish I still had this car, but one day I will replicate its horrible condition lol :toothy10:

Sunbaked weldable primer and lots of rust. The plan was to keep it looking the way it was and make a sleeper but it was too big of a project for me at the time.
