I need to replace the rear quarter cat whiskers on a 66 dart 270, I don't see them for sale on the different sites. I did a search here and I am confused :bang head:. Are these actually cat whiskers or part of the window seal gasket? Who sells them?

Thanks,

Allen

That is exactly what i'm looking for, I only need the ones for the quarters as I already have the ones for the front.

Thanks!!!

Nope, they are not. Well sorta lol…… From what I have found out, the rear only has outside catwhiskers, the inside uses a rubber seal. I think, I'm going to go remove the parts out of the car to see.

The auto body specialist link, the lady was not helpful at all. The justmopar.com was very helpful. I'm just confused. He said they only made the that style for a couple of years and the seals are hard to get. The outside catwhiskers are sold only with the front ones.

I'm going to do a little more digging around today, I will post up what I find.

The outside has catwiskers, the inside is very similar to catwhiskers. It's rubber. Supposedly , nobody makes that piece. I haven't researched it yet.

hmm sedan or hardtop/convertible? I just installed a complete set of cat whiskers in the convertible and have done the same with a hardtop, they used the same set. 1 was a GT (convertible) and the 270 was a hardtop if memory serves me right. both sets came with regular cat whiskers and I removed the same from the cars that went back in (except that were good whiskers:D). mine had clips that were inserted into holes in the door and quarter window openings. no rubber seal in either if I remember, and I can go check the convertible since it's still apart. I don't know about the (post cars) but I do have a more-door parts car that does still have the door's and glass in for me to look at.(I'll take a pic of them too!) maybe waggin has a sedan in his place he can check or knows about.

I was educated a little more today. My car is a post (sedan), so the cat whiskers are different than the hardtop or convertible.

I have a 8 piece set ordered. The confusion that I had was a couple of different vendors gave me conflicting answers about them. One told me they weren't made and the other said only the outside was a cat whisker, the inside one was rubber and nobody reproduced them. Both were wrong. They are available, and they do use the whiskers on the inside and outside.

Thanks everyone for your help, I was confused. Now I can go forward and be confused about something else!
