I'm looking at a late model LA360 with roller lifters and cam.

Any recommendations on lifters that are good and won't brake the bank?

What's braking the bank?
Is there such things as a cheap roller lifter that you can trust?

Contact MRL (Mile Listen) here at FABO for a drop in and forget about it set of retro lifters.
Pay the piper and rest easy knowing that all will be good.

Are they the same as the Hughes roller lifters?

Ya breaking the bank for me is that my currency is times ten for a single dollar, plus shipping, plus getting buggered by customs with their 40-50% import duty.

What are the standard roller lifters like that come stock in the '89 LA engine?
Any good?

For a hot street car.

Here is the problem..they are made in China....you will be casterated on this board if you admit to using parts from china in your mopar...so no one even if they are using is going to say so...LOL

Be the 1st to report how and if they worked..

if you have a LA roller block use the OEM hydraulic roller lifters.....but they can not be used in a NON LA roller block....you need the retrofit rollers lifters

Yes. You may get them to drop into the bores, but they wont play nice with the oil galleries and there is no way to prevent them from spinning around and falling off the lobes. Not to mention theyre too long, so would require pushrods too.
LA blocks need retrofit roller lifters.

Most lifter bores I've measured measure at .906, the lifter OD is .904.

If it's a roller block you should be able to use a stock replacement roller lifter. tmm

Like Sealed Power #HT2269 You will need the metal spider to hold them in place. tmm

Don't be afraid to use the stock factory roller lifters. We finished a 360 Magnum for a pickup truck in Oct, 2013 using the stock roller lifters, a Comp Cams roller 216/224 @ .050, .506/.506 lift, an air gap dual plane intake, 850 cfm Mighty Demon, ported factory iron heads and it dyno'd like this.

oooh nice numbers!!!

Got fully ported Eddy heads to go on from Hughes.
Will just replace rockers and srpings, cam, manifold and TBI for carb then

Yup, if its a factory roller block the Melling(or Sealed Power) lifters are the way to go. Just as good as any retro fit on the market but at a fraction of the cost and they are made in the usa. Have been using them for years, even with some pretty big cams, no issues.

Oh crap! My bad! I just reviewed the thread. Sorry.

Factory roller block! Duh!

Where is Cape Tow located?

I saved a teen roller block just in case I might want to put something together. tmm

Di you use the Chinese lifters or other parts , if so have you had any problems ?

Cape Town is the tip of Africa my friend. South Africa. And the top travel destination of 2014

Beautiful and super cheap on the dollar

That's awesome I have a good friend from Durban who was in the states for a few years but returned back to Cape Town a few months ago... he's kinda trying to get outta there though as far as places to live he says it's getting pretty unsafe with all the political/social unrest going on. Told me countless stories about the racial issues over there it's pretty sad as it is a beautiful place.

Good luck with your Mopar build I hear American cars are basically non-existent over there. What kind of car is this roller LA 360 going in? My buddy over there is real big into Mopar as well maybe I could give you his information if you want?

Agreed, I've had stuff with factory rollers spin 7K. Is that enough rpm?

Run the factory rollers, dogbones and spider if you have a roller LA block.

I always wanted to go surfing in South Africa, except with my luck, I would look like a giant pork chop to the Great Whites. :)

Wanting to fix up my Aussie Valiant Charger. Thats what the roller engine is for.

Crackedback...I surf here all the time, well not for the last 6 weeks...ankle surgery for skate injury from 7 years ago. Summer here is rad!!! but winter is when it's best for surfing. A youngster, 21, got attacked by a 14 foot Great White last month at a beginners beach. We have shark spotters on the hill but it was misty. Anyway, he called his dad from the beach. Left him with a nice bite to his leg. They're always out there but attacks are rare.

7k for a factory block! wow! Whats the best hp you can get for a street car do you think?
Ported Eddy heads and an Air Gap.

Nah dude...quite a few Mopars here but we never got 360's only the occasional 318, 383's and 225's

Our local Valiant Charger was actually a 225 or 383 option and had a Demon front with a Duster rear. A couple of Chev SS which was an Aussie Holden Monaro and Ford Fairmonts which were 4 door saloons based on the Aussie Falcon XY GTHO which has racing history. The original XY GTHO Falcons were going for almost a million dollars before the stock market crash in '08.

That's sweet you guys get any of those Aussie Hemi 6's? I'm sure American cars are still pretty rare my same friend has a 1994 mustang we looked it up and they go for 10 times as much as here. Thought about shipping it but too much hassle...
