Scrap steel price?

Looks like they have taken a dive around here in West Plains, Mo. but so has the price of scrap cars. What are they doing in your neck of the woods. I appriciate the old buddy at one of our scrap yards as he sets out the mopars and it gives me a chance to do a drive by every other day and see what he has before he crushes them.

Its $50 for a ton around here it was 200 when i scrapped off a duster and an amc sx4.

it was a 74 360 auto car Both front and rear frame rails had decent size rust holes in them I kept everything worth saving.

It`s about half what it was selling for just a few months ago.

everything has dropped. insulated copper wire was down to 90 cent a pound the other day compared to around 2 bucks last year.

short steels paying $65 a ton here in central ny... if you got the room, just stockpile until spring. its usually highest then.

I hauled 1200lbs of "bailer" as they call it. It is basically the cheap tin like doors etc.

I knew the price was low...........it paid $6.00!!!!!

So I drove 100 miles in my 360 Dodge for $6.00!!!!!!

I actually found it humorous at that point.

Yeah, I am stockpiling it until spring after that. It was stuff that I just wanted gone, well I guess I got my wish.

We're down to about $40/ton currently, we had been getting about $160/ton. That's a huge difference.

Like i said, he's my buddy so i drive by and theres a valiant setting out and i got two front fenders a trunk lid and a hood ,two backup lites and an instrument cluster for..........$30. I guess if our stuff is cheap, his is also.
