Mostly wasted day, not wasted i guess just frustrating. Was kickin *** this morning than had to weld up a 4" booboo in the new firewall....half a day later and rebuilding the welder Rheostat it finally got done. Turned a 4" sawzall cut into a huge 6"x4" weld because we couldn't dial in the welder and it kept burning through, finally threw our hands up and fingured if we couldnt dial it in, the only possible thing it could be was the Rheostat. So not only did I get to learn to weld today I got to figure out how to tear apart and fix a welder lol. Connections in there were all dirty and a little corrosion, runs like a champ once it was back together. Still working on prepping the new firewall and front clip to come off the subframe, hopefully make more progress tomorrow.

Hey X I forgot to ask what did you use to strip the paint off your engine.

Didn't get anything on the barracuda done today. Spent the day doing a heater core in a 99 Escort, didnt take as long as i expected was still a royal pain in the *** though. Think im going to take tomorrow off too, need a break.

Didn't update last night, was too tired. At the "ohh crap i'm in over my head" stage. finished prepping the donor firewall, only thing left for that is to release the front clip from the subframe.

Finished pulling out the inner fenders, have no idea how the hell im gonna make sure the cab is sitting high enough, but thats something ill worry about another day...

Got the motor on the cherry picker(yes by myself) and into the car(yup still by myself) to figure out how to mount it in there, have to notch the K for the oil pump still, but looks like i'll need to weld 1" spacers on the motor mounts. Ohh yea cutting those motor mounts out was fun, not sure what kind of stick welder they used but dear god they wernt going to seperate. Ended up just cutting the 2x3 inbetween the mount and the k in half and cutting the metal off. still had to leave the top and bottom parts of the 2x3 on the K and motor mount respectivly, threre was no way in hell they were coming off.

For someone who is in over their head you are doing a great Job.

Thank's Cliff, it's slow going now because I have to think of what I need to do 10times before actually doing it. Trying to just take it one step at a time and not get stressed over what else needs to be done. I tend to over think things and will see 10problems in the future that havent even happened yet lol, so trying to keep the thinking down to just "right now" and worry about what arises later.

Cliff this thread would be dead if it wern't for you lol, so thank you! Atleast I have a reason to keep posting on it lol.

Just adding some U bars to be able to roll up my 25' power cable, 15ft gun cable and ground, try and neaten it up a bit when its put away, may even add a hanger for my helmets depending on how much stock I have left lol.

Thats a great idea Cliff, but that still leaves the motor hanging over the engine compartment on a cherry picker I dont trust lol.

I would like to see the cart you building.maybe a new thread in the general discussion?

Tempted to weld all the joints lol I think what it needs is the leg inserts to be sized better, they sit in there pretty loose.

Sure cliff as soon as I start the project ill post a bunch of pictures.

No problem X

Notched the K-member today (well actually had to notch it 3 times)and played around with trying to get the motor mounted in right, its going ridiculously slow because i'm getting frustrated. Tomorrow play around with shimming and hopefully have it mounted in right.

So it's coming along slowly that is good.
