Not much today.

FOTO and I went to a repo auction. Everything was being sold around what I would sell it at. There wasn't any meat left on the bones. I'm not allowed to go to the dealer auctions so the dealers shouldn't be allowed to go to the public auctions!!! OH yes I did!!! I went there!!!disgust

I love my '71...it's a pain to keep running and the leaks stopped sometimes, but it's awesome.

Sometimes it can be overwhelming at times.
So can a regular car payment for life, higher insurance rates on that newer car, higher maintenance on it due to you not being able to fix the new one yourself, and so on....LOL!!
My first Dart back in 77 was a 65 4 door Dart /225. Back then I was just 1 notch up from a 4 door rambler. Nobody wanted to cruise with me then and I chose to be last in the parking lot at High school due to grandmas car comments!
When I opted a few years back to arrange a car purchase for my son it was decided he needed something he could work on himself, be cheap to buy and maintain. He found a 69 dart 4 door minty. The 4 doors are usually unmolested garaged cherries for half the price of a 2 door. Most 4 doors haven't seen the drag strip and 3 generations of car beaters! LOL!!
Most of the recent ones we get are 4 doors. Total sleepers and can pack with convenience for vacation!!
What leaks are you getting? If you aren't sure, degrease you engine bay with $2.00 a botlle mean green from dollar general. They got a killer $1.00 a bottle carpet cleaner "Totally Awesome" is name!
After you hose evrything down, let soak 2 min. Rince with garden hose, NOT PRESSURE WASH! Let sit in sun for 2 hours and dry with old towel or blow dry. Set big cardboard or cheap white sheet or something under it over night. Next morning look under with flashlight and trace up untill you find it. If ya need anything parts wise that you can't get at Advanced PM me, I'll try to help ya with parts or answers to stupid questions. Might get dumb answers but the answers will get ya back on the road driving on the cheap again! Just PM me if ya need anything.

whole car paint? If I do it will be based on cream cycle bar, surfing, and endless summer. More soon....
If not just paint fawn color back to original.
Got a pic of the bottles of stuff I use for engine bay cleanup.
Mean green, Dollar general stores $2.00 a bottle = 2 applications, apply wash off let dry and repeat before driving. Let dry in sun a few hours after blowdrying before starting.

Was getting pics of lump and saw FOTO's reflection in the gas cap by accident so I shot it!
I shoot alot of pics FABO never sees. As I get older, it's better for me to get lots of pics for closer scrutiny on the computer to help with catching stuff and pre planning.:yawinkle:

Today I took my first solo trip in Lump to McDonalds, Krogers, and Wal-Mart. At the very first red light some new model Firebird pulled up beside me and started revving his motor up. Wrong thing to do. I didn't look over there or pay attention to him. As soon as the light turned green I let him have it. Left him at the light. Sucka!!! I did slow down though and let him pass me didn't want to him give to much of a complex. Besides I didn't want to get a ticket. Overall, the trip was enjoyable.

Wondering, once Lump is all done and painted should we give it a new name like Bambi (cause the color of her is fawn) or keep it Lump??

I'll be hitting it with the original "Fawn" color first due to finances being zero at the moment. No junk cars, dried up about 6 weeks ago. No income. Custom paint soon to follow after selling ABB's 74 Swinger in Indy next month.
