getting back to Dusty after a bit. doing a dizzy inspection. everything sends petty clean and moving freely, but one of the springs for the internal weights is 1) big and 2) never really engaging. the second picture is at full advance and the spring hook is just starting to touch the post.
look correct?
Thanks FABO!

So judging by process of elimination.......original problem was the accelerator pump. Im OK with doing the tune to get a baseline as I did find a couple things wrong like the PCV not hooked up to manifold pressure and crappy plug wires. Plus an education on dizzy with the bonus of building confidence with the car (she is new to those that dont know). I took her out and find still a little stumble out of the hole but Ill have fun tuning that out as well as getting the steering finessed.
single barrel. Its stuffed behind a metering block behind the bowl. Its vertical, so my guess is diaphram? What say you? and does it make the current small stumble Im experiencing easy to diagnose?
I don't understand what you mean here. PCV valve hose goes to bottom of carb. right ?PCV not hooked up to manifold pressure
Alright, so I put the timing ATDC instead of BTDC. No more hesitation. Filled her up with NON ethanol gas. I have her at around 7-8* initial, but when I rev it, Im at 45* total. Sound right? another thing was I was going to find TDC but when I went to find the crank bolt its like the bottom pulley is a black hole and I couldnt find the bolt. Ill have to get in there when she isnt hot and look a little harder. Otherwise, fairly successful! I still would like a bit more out of her. Trail Beast dizzy upgrades coming soon.
Thanks!
Having a blast with this thing. So much less oppressive than the million things that need to be done on the barracuda project. It will happen but this is a welcome distraction.
