Looking back over my hot rodding history I really haven’t owned that many carbs. Most were probably on the conservative side. I’ve often wondered about stepping up a bit on my current W8 mill, but it would be an expensive experiment. It’s sure responded well to other changes we’ve done on the induction side. Ever go too big?

My experience is anything I have ever had went faster every time I put a bigger carb on.
Just one exception. I had a 1025rs Race Demon that I swapped out for an 1100 dominator from Patrick at pro systems. I used to work with him years ago before he opened his carb shop. He gave me 3 or 4 carbs to try. Ultimately the only one I kept was the dominator. It ran as good as the 1025rs but no better. As I had fooled around quite a bit to try the dominator , I kept it and sold the Demon. Dumbest thing I might have ever done was getting rid of that carb, it was bad ***.
So yea, almost ever time bigger has been better with that one exception.
