SRT-4 2.4 turbo swap into an early A-Body?

-
glad to see you back ric. I still have the rest of those parts when your ready.
every time I see one of these threads pop back up makes me re-think not finishing the swap. maybe someday down the road.

a little info for this type of swap..

if you wish to use an automatic trans i have found 3 sources that offer adapter plates.

1. http://www.dynamicracingtrans.com/SportsComp.html
for the a904,a727,a998, a518
2. jmbperformance.com
for the BOP turbo 350
3. http://www.dcrsrt.com/index.php?_a=product&product_id=49
for a chevy turbo 350

if your going manual trans..

http://www.dynamicracingtrans.com/SportsComp.html

with this adapter you can bolt the la 318,340,360 bellhousing to the srt4/2.4 and use the a833 4 speed

or a small block quicktime bellhousing to a t56 trans
http://quicktimebellhousings.carshopinc.com/product_info.php/products_id/135453/RM-6072

an 03-04 jeep liberty, or tj wrangler bellhousing of the same years. or a dodge dakota 2.5 bellhousing. will bolt up to the back of the srt4/2.4 with no adapter. then the toyota r154 5 speed trans, or the MA5 5 speed trans from the colorado, solstice h3 or sky can be used.

if you use the MA5 trans. use the 2.4 flywheel, a chevy drive shaft yoke, and an s10 4 cylinder clutch disc from 94-04

use a jeep liberty oil pump and filter adapter. filter will then face forward.
the best water pump is the srt4.

if you use the 420a cylinder head, the intake will move to the passenger side and face the throttle body forward. and the exhaust on the passenger side, with turbo up front.

NOW THE GOOD NEWS IS THERE ARE 2 OF THESE SRT4/2.4 SWAPS CURRENTLY BEING DONE ON HERE RIGHT NOW!
here are their links:

I believe some mods need to be done to the 420A cylinder head on the 2.4.
I was looking into that when I contemplated the swap in my valiant.

This is awesome. I use to have a stratus with a 2.4 and knew so much about these engines and cars. This would be awesome for a daily drive. I will be following this for future reference.

Good to see you on here. Was wondering where you went.

thanks Aj

Subscribed.

Here is my future SRT4 swap vehicle. It already has a banger so I wanted to keep it that way. Going from 60hp to 260 hp will be the bonus.

Thanks,

Love what your doing by the way. After owning an srt4 I can say that the motor will make driving any car built with this turbo banger a fun and unique experience.

Build on. I'm paying close attention.

here are two different style bell housings used with the dodge dakota factory installed 2.2 and 2.5 versions the early bell housing on the left took an a535 five speed transmission with this bolt pattern a t5 five speed from ford mustang or t'bird can be used. many of those out there. and in expensive. this bell housing was used from 87-93. the bell housing on the right i talked about before 94-96 can accept the the toyota r154, chevy colorado, pontiac solstice, H3 saturn skye, canyon, Ma5 five speed and issuzu ar5 transmissions. although some slight modifications are needed to fit the bell housings to the 2.0 and 2.4 blocks
