My car currently has a radio mounted under the dash for tunes but I would like to replace the factory one with a newer style replacement (shaft style radio) WITHOUT cutting the center section of the bezel. Any ideas, has anyone done this without modification of the bezel in the '73 Swinger?

The lower opening with a hole on each side is for the radio, upper opening is heater controls

Just my 2 cents, but I'd try to find a scrap yard / ebay / online bezel that has already been cut to fit a modern radio.

Are there not available after market housings to put a modern radio into and mount to the dash board?

The latest Mopar Muscle has an ad for RetroSound.com that has the new Redondo. They look like the original radios but have new technology MP3 and IPod and Bluetooth etc. Sounds like a nice alternative. Unfortunately, the Retrosound website had no idea what the Redondo was.

I have a cut one like that I will sell cheap. It's in pretty good shape. PM me if you interested.
