Stop in for a cup of coffee

I would get a spray bottle and shoot some gas in it and see if it fires, but I am a little silly
I try to have a can of carb spray handy. I cranked on my 273 way too long before it fired. I was too excited and got ahead of myself. I primed the carb but not enough. It took a long time to fill the fuel line all the way from the front. I knew I had oil pressure.

No start after priming??? Should get at least 30 seconds from fuel in the bowls.
a. Check the fuel level in the carb first.
b. Check fuel in the tank
c. Remove the outlet hose from the fuel pump and crank the motor and see how much goes in bucket.
if fuel then the problem is after the pump
- c1 if nothing, then check in the fuel pump inlet. If nothing can be pulled out there, then its not the pump. (ps.Have enough hose to stop the siphon effect)

pss recharge battery
There was NO fuel to the bowl. I'll follow these steps today and see if we can determine a problem. Yes need to recharge the battery...lol.

I poured a little gas into the bowls...didn't really help.
That's where a little spritz of carb spray while cranking helps. Then you know for sure you have ignition. That can also be checked with a screwdriver in a spark plug wire almost grounded to the block.

Last summer/fall if it sat for a couple weeks had the same problem. I'd had to pour a little gas to prime the bowls and hit the accelerator like crazy for a minute or so before it'd start. Might be filter or pump?? I'll probably just go ahead and change them out, both look worn out. Rubber hose on both is old and cracking. Just preventive maintenance.

Pull out of street to go somewhere and the truck dies. No fuel - I make it to a parking spot. Got someone to drive me to where I keep the car. Use the car and in the meantime order a new fuel pump, 20 feet of fuel hose and fill a small can of fuel. So when I'm back a few days later I rig the fuel jug to hang from the coat hanger and run the hose to the carb inlet and gently close the hood to the first latch. Drive it down to the garage and take the rig off.
Take a rag to clean a bit a round the fuel pump and see what I'll need to take it off.
What I see is the inlet hose is broken.
That's all it needed! I could have done that street side!

I finally did use the new fuel pump on the rebuilt engine (I think).

I only got one key with the Neon. According to info online, it is a basic transponder key (no 'fob'). I think it's like $100 plus at dealer. What's the cheapest way/place to get one made? I see local locksmiths advertise they 'will save you a lot over dealer'. Will be calling... Looks like Batteries Plus wants $60 and I think they can do it with only one key. Just wondering if any known cheep sources.

try Ace hardware...

I hate to be a downer but I hope you have good luck with your new pump. Mopar Joe went through a couple until we put a fuel pressure regulator on. We chased the rich running problem for a few days. All of a sudden the light bulb came on to check the fuel pressure. 10+ pounds out of a parts store mechanical pump. Way too much pressure for a Edelbrock carb.

I'd guess neither. But a new filter wouldn't hurt - its regular maint anyway.
I'ld replace all the hoses if they look like that. Including the one from the fuel tank to the steel line.
What carburetor?

Wow. That's BS.

I can't type much right now, I slipped and fell on some black ice on my driveway when getting the mail last night and hurt one of my hands/wrist... I don't think it's broken, but hurts alot...

So my I can't type too well until it heals some....

I just use a spare spark plug and hold the bottom electrode to the block to check for spark....

I get keys there, but didn't think they got into programming even with 2 keys
Kind of screwed. You can do what one of my cheap *** friend did a few times. Join AAA foe $45 a year and loose the key a few times!

I think my insurance would cover if I lost the other key.

Hey guys. Light snow here today so far around a inch, second round later today. Can be a real ugly mix. Predicting six inches right now.
Sucks

You have to have two key fobs to get a locksmith or even a hardware store to make you one. Been down that road myself. Ended up being forced to pay the 275 dollars for one for my Caliper I had when we lost the second key.

They will cut you a key that will get you in the door though for like 20 bucks. But it wont start the car
There are numerous services that say they can do it. Not just dealer. Even dealer should not cost that much unless they raped you on the cost of the key.
I think I can get a flat metal door key for Under 5 bucks.
They suck. Got lucky with the cobalt. Lost a key was down to one, then the ignition switch recall happened and they gave me two more! Firechicken needs a spare. I will just wait till she locks it in or loses it then call AAA!
I am going to ask locksmith about re-keying. Not really a big concern cause car was from MD, not local, but I did not get any original keys. Don't know history of car...
I guess some cars you can clone in the car, not sure which ones though.
don't think so on this
You didnt read it through. No mention of self programming a single key.
Two keys, yes.
A scan tool or a dedicated key programmer is required. Most locksmiths can do it.
The nearest one to me that provides this service is 50 miles away.
Have one close by I will call
