You are well lubed. lolAll these new cool pix by Dd made me change my avatar! And perhaps a touch of gin and lemonade. It is spring in Fargo ya know, we just about hit 80 degrees today. It was hot (for here). I will spare y'all the details but note to self, always wear your glasses when drinking and making a snack. I won't elaborate here as the story is to long, details on Stop in for a drink thread, if the curiosity is killing ya! MITP in just a couple of days! Woo Hoo! We will miss those that live to far away to make it.

Run downpipe into lower trough.Ok, I think I figured out the cause and how to probably fix it. The down spout from the upper roof discharges sideways parallel to the front of the house and with heavy rain, the water it is expelling must be getting under the shingles and finding its way through to inside.
I hope just redirecting the downspout will fix it.

Exactly my thought. The stupid roofers (before we bought the house) took the lazy way out.Run downpipe into lower trough.
So Dave, why the new stone work? The old looked good to me.....Ok, I think I figured out the cause and how to probably fix it. Good luck!Well you boys are on your own, wife just very subtly (not) explained in no uncertain terms I was done with all things communication devices. Appears being totally trashed when wife comes home is not is good plan! Man a guy just can't leave work early and be left alone! I clear need a chaperone!

The old walk was just flagstone with grass in between. Too narrow and a serious PIA to shovel snow off of in winter. The new front walk will be 4’ wide stone pavers. We are also doing the area around the deck in the back and the area between the deck and the stairs to the walk-up basement. Also the front step and landing that was never properly finished. So Dave, why the new stone work? The old looked good to me.....
So is this something you are doing or is the association doing it? Curious...The old walk was just flagstone with grass in between. Too narrow and a serious PIA to shovel snow off of in winter. The walks, stairs and patios will look something like this...

Possibly going back up under the siding. Or blasting from spout over into that corner. Much more likely than actually getting through the shingles and whatever was used under. Entry point and exit (drip) are not necessarily close alignment. Water often meanders a bit before it finds a spot to come out. I would get them pointed away from wall at least.Ok, I think I figured out the cause and how to probably fix it. my thoughts exactly.
This is a privately owned property so it is all mine. The association only covers common grounds like the entrance to the neighborhood and the playground. The road is township owned and maintained. So is this something you are doing or is the association doing it? Curious...
It could be that or both. Redirecting the down spout should resolve it either way. I doubt where it is intruding and where it is leaking are the same. Likely once it’s under the shingles, it finds a penetration point and then travels again to where it drips.Possibly going back up under the siding. Or blasting from spout over into that corner. Was raining over one of the printing presses here a while ago. It's still shut down due to dripping...
