perfect ...that looks like the 68 and 9 round 340 and BB air cleaner .....that works awesome.

OMG...I LOVE that it says 383 also ....nothing against your 340s but nothing has pavement pounding belligerent launch like a big block :D:D

I do agree that there's nothing quite like the seat of your pants feel a big block/4 speed. But many a BB has sat in plume of tire smoke and watched that 340 scream on by.. Don't sell those little guys short. They didn't get their reputation for no reason...
 
Thanks guys !! It's not as intimidating as it used to be to get the Annual Tumor check up for her. It has actually been 13yrs now, since they resected Tumors in the brain on THREE different occasions. Then of course she had all the Radiation ( hair Loss ) and awful Chemo therapy. She is a TOUGH woman. Especially to put up with ME !

if I ever do another small block it will be a 360 all the way.

I had a duster long time ago with a 360 (not original) and dang that car was mean.

I mean really mean, we lined it up with my dad's 340 cuda (original) and the duster won ....and won by a lot. That 360 in the duster was out of a 78 dodge aspen of some kind, I believe it was a factory 4bbl. engine. Had the TQ and it was just mean.

My dad's 340 is ok, I can see where it revs and is very 60s but it was short. It's actually a 70 dated 340 for a 71 car because the original 69 340 started smoking and he swapped it out looooooong time before I was even around. We still have the original engine tho.

a 318 ....I drove one for a short time in a 72 swinger. it took off with a lot of eagerness from a red light or starting line but didn't take long to run out of carb and manifold (2bbl.) and gasp for a breath.

I really honestly think I have had meaner slant sixes than that 318 LOL.

Come to Mopars at Hagerstown. There is a slant 6 running 8's or better I think. He is a member here. I forget his name. What a car to watch!
