Stop in for a cup of coffee

Got an appointment this morning for Gunner at the Vet office. His limping is getting worse. So I'm taking him in for an X ray today , and whatever else they can do. I'm sure I'm going to take a shellacking on the bill for all this. But, my Buddy is worth it.

Morning all, coffee's going down good this morning. Hope gunner get to feeling better. Going to start loading my truck for the swap meet, move in is Friday at 1pm.

Any one use this type of hose? I am leaning to it for when the 440 goes in. No messing around to find a molded hose to fit.

Street rodders use it all the time, just make sure you get a good quality set.

I just figure they would make it easy when the engine went in. No running around that day (I hope) I have seen them in the pep boys speed shop so I was kind of interested in them. They will match the shiny valve covers and make it really fast!!!!

No brand name I guess. Prob get them at PB They give me 10% off military and they have been great to me so far.

Good morning, off today. Looking forward to my sister stopping by for the night, on her way from GA to FL. This morning she has the difficult job of trying to get my Dad into a place that will take care of him, his dementia has gotten worse very quickly and he's been getting belligerent. His wife is a control freak/martyr, for a long time we've been saying Dad's not himself, she said he was fine, but now she seems to relish telling us how bad he is. Moral of the story, don't marry a crazy lady!

Saying a prayer for Gunner.

Went through that with my dad. After we got him into a wonderful facility I used to get called into the principal's office every week or so. The lady who ran the place was so cool. She used to tell me that it was just for my FYI. He'd make some suggestive comment towards one of the young gals and she'd get mad. The lady would tell them that they better get used to it and buck up or look for another line of work because working with nothing but older people with various age related brain issues it's going to happen. The older more experienced workers knew how to shut it down or brush it off and they'd work with the younger ones who stuck with it. Some of those woman there were saints.

I can remember years ago when my Grandpa was going through it. I was about ten and my brother was around 16. We were sitting in the car with Gramps who is silent while our dad went into a store. This gal walked by in front of the car and Grandpa nonchalantly says, "Nice tits!" My brother and I look at each other not knowing if we should keep quiet, agree or bust out laughing. My grandpa was such a straight arrow, he'd NEVER say that normally.

As the brain ages, all those little switches in the brain that tell us what is acceptable behavior and what is not begin to stop working...but then with some of us out there they never did function well...

Good luck. It's tough but you have to keep focusing on the good times. Mentally they can't help it and it's a cruel disease. Gramps had it, Dad had it....oh boy....

On another note, I get to go in today for my yearly old guy physical. He always puts on the glove and sighs, "let's get this over with..." I'd like to tell him one of these times to use use two fingers because I want a second opinion....not sure the humor would come out though...might make it even more awkward....

Thanks Rob for the humor, it helps! Cool Mopar mug too. My sis just reported that the house is much, much cleaner than it was, and she is having some one-on-one time with Dad by taking him along to get a new headlight for her truck. Makes me hopeful that things will work out, they usually do after all.

Yeah...I made an attempt at humor with my doctor once, a little awkward...I had a small cyst near my private area...to warn me he was about to stick me with the needle, he said "little prick," and I said, "well, it is cold in here."

Amazing what a little distraction can do. Sitting around doing nothing isn't good. I bought a wheelchair van to get Dad out and about. He spent his entire career with General Foods so I'd take him to grocery stores and let him wheel about checking prices, shelf share of his old products. Sometimes he knew we were just on an outing other times he'd tell me to put out a memo to HQ to make sure they renegotiate with the grocer for more facings of this and that product. I miss our outings usually followed by a stop for ice cream.

Now that's funny!

Gooooood Morning All. Gunners check up went well yesterday. They found nothing in the X rays to be concerned about. Told me that he probably has a strain, and not to throw the Frisbee for 2 Months. Don't know how that's gonna go over with him.! Also had his annual done with all the shots and what not. And bought his heartworm meds and tick meds for the year. Yall would be shocked to know the cost of the visit. But I guess I'm done for the year, unless something else happens to my Buddy.

Morning Mitch, that's good news. The vets prices are up there the Meds are worse I would say north of 400.

Good morning!
10F on the car driving in today. Trying to warm my hands on a hot mug. :coffee2:

Looks like we might hit 50 Sunday. Then back down to a HIGH of 15 on Friday. Ugh.
