Stop in for a cup of coffee

-
Morning. I'm up way too early too. No coffee for me. I need more sleep. lol

Morning Guy's and Gal's. Been up since 5am. My young protege Joseph is coming this morning at 8am for breakfast. Then he's going to help me re install the transmission in my 92 D250 . Finished the re assembly yesterday and the new converter finally arrived. Should have it going by early afternoon.

MN'G Mitch, sounds like a good plan. I always get satisfaction teaching the younger generations the little I know.

This young guy Joseph is 21. Been hanging around my place now for around 2 years. Doesn't drink or smoke. Very polite and eager to learn. He comes by out of the blue and cleans out my gutters and blows the leaves from the yard. Got to the point now, where he will call to see if the lift bay is open, and he'll bring his own side jobs and repairs on his own vehicle to do himself. Also works part time for a roofer and part time for a commercial soda blasting co. And he is going to community college. It is very refreshing to see a young person with that much ambition. Reminds be of myself. When I was younger of course. LOL

They are a rare breed, I cannot even find a "kid" to help me out the last four years with the hops in the spring. Got lucky this year my next door neighbor just retired yesterday and wants, yes wants to help me out. I am giving him a cut if he will accept it. And of course all the beer he will drink. I wonder if I can put a kegerator on the tractor!!! Just kidding, kind of.

I've never tried home brewing although I hear that it is immensely popular these days. My old neighbor used to brew. He would bring some over and we'd hang out in the shop. His stuff was pretty good too. How much space do you need to grow Hops?

I have around 400 bines (plants) on a shade more than 1/4 acre. You can grow one in a 5 gallon pot if you want. it is not big enough for a real support your family business and bigger than a hobby. Keeps me active.

A man has to stay busy, even in retirement or he will go nut's or die early. Seen it many times.

Yeah I went out medically and it sucks, Wish I was still in. I think the hardest thing is being home 24/7 and not being able to do 7/8 of the stuff I used to do.

I am! I just did a Marathon sleep. I think I still have the flu. Came home from work yesterday with fever and I went to bed by 5:00 and just woke up 14 hours later. I still feel crappy. So I am ready for some warm weather.

We had a pretty good scare last nigh. My neighbors wife came by around 4 and said our other neighbor who runs a repair shop is having a heart attack, my wife (who is an rn) Laura, and I ran up there and an ambulance was there. He should be OK. He was lucky someone went up there he works and lives alone there. He was joking that If I did CPR he would need therapy and we would get our beards tangled like Velcro! That's when I knew he was ok.

That's funny. I think I am going to go trim my beard back! I think of that often. I live out here by myself.

whew !!! I am already tired and the day just started ......just got finished pushing a dart out of the shop and off to the side. Its just a bare shell so it was surprisingly light on its feet. I just put a make shift suspension under it to get it to roll and it worked except the front left wheel wanted to keep turning sharp when I was trying to go straight.

what a good workout for the day.

That's about all I am doing on cars today. For the first time in a long time .....shop is closed today and I am going to my friend's house to do nothing and just hang out. :glasses7:

Hey Mitch is here! I have never been sick as much as I have been this year. I had this a few weeks ago and thought I was rid of it. It either came back or never left. It will not stop me today because I want to get out in the garage and do some straightening up.
