I just looked it up, says says Main hoop must be welded to car/chassis with a horizontal barwow - great question - I know they allow swing out side bars - which are essentially removable...

me niether. Looks like the only thing allowed to be removable up to a point is door barsI'm not finding anything that makes me think it's NHRA legal
exactlyme niether. Looks like the only thing allowed to be removable up to a point is door bars
my question is this..... can it be made to look welded in......exactly
you'll never get that past a good tech...my question is this..... can it be made to look welded in......
I would be......as soon as a tech see's padding 4" (or less) from the floor - he will be suspicious
can't just pull it and take to an AutoZone or some place? How come no matter how nice a Mopar has been "restored", the wiring always has issues? IMO of course. I have a wiring Can-O-Worms in my 69. Cant trouble shoot the ALT because of the "modifications" made to the wiring harness. Shoot.
I dont think it is the Alt. Looks like a problem in the wiring. BUT it is going to get checked.can't just pull it and take to an AutoZone or some place?
not padding. simple take a piece of steel plate, weld to the bottom of the main hoop, then weld 4 studs to the bottom of that steel plate, drill 4 holes in the floor of the car, slide the thing in, use a second steel plate on the bottom of the car with nuts and bolt it in that way. Then figure a way to make a torque box looking thing to hide the nuts.......as soon as a tech see's padding 4" (or less) from the floor - he will be suspicious
I like the way you thinknot padding. simple take a piece of steel plate, weld to the bottom of the main hoop, then weld 4 studs to the bottom of that steel plate, drill 4 holes in the floor of the car, slide the thing in, use a second steel plate on the bottom of the car with nuts and bolt it in that way. except that's 4 holes per plate - - and I doubt a single bar roll bar is good enough - is it?not padding. simple take a piece of steel plate, weld to the bottom of the main hoop, then weld 4 studs to the bottom of that steel plate, drill 4 holes in the floor of the car, slide the thing in, use a second steel plate on the bottom of the car with nuts and bolt it in that way. They all do these days. Have you seen the special snowflakes they have to choose from? Last one was 34 and almost killed me.
