Stop in for a cup of coffee

Just got back from Pic-A-Part looking for the struts for the trunk like I put on the 66. Can't remember what they came off. Crap. Can't find them, but most of the Ford Explorer, that I think they came from, can't be opened, they are electric! @Ddaddy , Can you measure the ones in the 66? Just length, and the black part. Thanks!

Sure thing. I will be pulling the cover off tomorrow to install the hold down straps, so I will do it it then.

If you could get at it with an air hammer and rattle the drums they might break free.
Worst case-BFH!
Once you pop grease cap you will know if bearings are siezed.

Noted. I'll try again later . I'm frozen right now lol
I almost feel guilty.

An hour or so to blast it and a coat of ? Thinking orange....

Grind/knock off the hold down "nails" from the back. They should come out in one piece.

That's what she said... :D

I just did 12 inch hubs on a motor home last fall. It took 2 of us and working. No puller..

Fixed...

That's what she said... :D

You heat them up real good?

That's what she said... :D

Clean it up and clear coat that puppy!

That's what she said... :D

I think I'm gonna bring the big torch next weekend. I don't think the little torch got it hot enough.

That's what she said... :D

If so Tim gave you a pregnant one and it is lactating! How else dose one leak from the front?

The anti-freeze is 50/50 Prestone which should have been fine. I suspect it was a seam failure due to differential contraction of the metal in the cold. It is a re-cored radiator and I think they used an aluminum core with brass tanks.

Check the hose clamps....fresh install and cold will get you every time.
Gotta watch the latest coolants on the parts store shelves, some is premix.

All good advice. I will check it tomorrow and see if I can tell where it's leaking from. Tim said it was 50/50 so I figure the coolant should be fine.
