Stop in for a cup of coffee

-
Morning, fellas! I hope everyone is well.

My buddies and I were approached at a car cruise last night by a man who is having a show in Debary, FL today. There is a benefit for a woman (who I have not met) who has an A-body Barracuda and has been stricken with cancer. I was told she did the work on her car herself. If it is there, I will post some pictures later.

I am thankful everyday that I can get out of bed. Health can go very quickly and once it does, it changes EVERYTHING.

Saw pics of that auction yesterday, have a feeling it is all truck motors, there is a 62 GMC stepside I might throw a bid at just like one I had in Hawaii, but a v6 not a v 12. Definitely needs work.

They are really rare, all tork also. This truck has the v-6, still a cool motor. I had to do a head gasket on the 12 in HI what a pia getting parts for it back then, pistons are huge 4.5" bore if I remember. Other than that it was dam dependable.

I know everything you need to know about DSL.
Any insight on the DSL resellers? Last year I saw one that claims to have higher speeds and better service than the local ISP. I'd be happy with equal speed and lower cost.

Man I am glad everyday that I wake up and I can pee and sometimes I make it out of bed also!
I should be too.. but my number morning concern is always to let the dog out and feed her!
ok, well usually I try to start coffee water before I we get out the door...

Good morning Matt and zkx, Keith is it :BangHead: memory shot this morning, my brain is tired I guess :)

Cut firewood
That should warm you up. :)

Well I finally have a truck to drive again. :) While waiting for the starter to show up, I started sorting and organizing the garage and swapped out the alternator for a higher output version. I tried to swap the A/C comressor clutch but didn't have a 5/8-11 bolt anywhere in the shop. :( I need to look in the basement - I've got one somewhere.

LOL,
I use a French press. The pup waits for the kettle to whistle. I pour water in for coffee -THEN we go out.

So, DSL...
How important is wire length? I will do cat 5e home run from the modem to NID. Is it going to make much diff if I do 15ft or 30ft?
Be interested in what Tim says.
My understanding is the twisted pairs reduce radio wave interference.
In my house there's only plain old copper (4 wires) to the modem and then Cat5 to the router. My guess is that its 50 to 100 feet of 4 wire. I did put the filter on at the entrance, and I think I used the 2nd pair to distribute the DSL. It works well but I know its not ideal.

Yeh, lots of info/opinions around the interweb... Some say DONT use twisted for phone- ? I also wonder...even with the DSL branching off right away on a cat5, can the old phone lines still connected drag down the speed. As I understand the filter is to keep the DSL noise out of the phones, not the other way around.

rule of thumb ac twisted pair carries longer, dc it is a no no at least on aircraft and also separate ac and dc by at least two inches.
