Stop in for a cup of coffee

I believe that to a point. I think money is relative though in that it causes lots of stress if you have too little at times. That said, letting it rule your life isn't good, one way or the other.

That's why my goal is to be fully debt free except for a mortgage within 3-5 years. And I'm working on turning that ten acres of mine into something I can harvest food off of. I'm wanting to only have the bare minimum monthly bills for stuff I can't produce/make. Like cell phone, internet, most of my electrical needs. I can supply all my veggie needs, most of my beef and pork needs. It's chicken and fish that'll be the challenge.

However, tying back to money. I do think it's possible to live and survive without a ton of money.
If you have children you need to earn money.
I gave mine what they needed, and an understanding that they had to earn there wants.
I feel fulfilled that I leave them better off, from a financial perspective
Then I started. Now it's up to them to carry it on to their children.
All total I have 5 grand and 1 great grand at the moment.

And me....Dad!

That's awesome. I received no help whatsoever from my parents. Once I turned 18 and was literally disowned, I've forged ahead on my own. I've had a ton of stumbles along the way and may never reach what were my goals but at least I'll have earned what I do have.

The rest of that story is how to have enough money to live when you stop working and/or unable to physically do the work you describe to be self sufficient. Also what happens when you and your wife need medical care or full time assisted living care.
That's where I kind of am now.
Refuse to have someone feed me oatmeal and wipe my ***..
Not for me. I would rather be ashes then someone's food source. So to speak.

I am getting more and more tired of my job. It is changing rapidly and I continually get the shaft. I am seen as the work horse in my department. We lost a Supervisor 2 years ago and they have not replaced him because I am doing it. So I told them I am done If you don't want to hire someone that's ok but I am no longer doing it. Then he says well don't get mad about it. I said I am not mad I am just saying....I am not doing it.
