They don't call them "poser cams" for nothing. LOL
I figured on the 318. The 360 is not bad...Have heard, read the same thing on that Camshaft. Mostly show, not much go.Well because it is a teen with a Whiplash it idles like a top fueler but doesn't perform like it. It smooths out at about 1800 rpm like grandma's Dart. He built a 360 for it and runs 12.40's @ 108.
Sad part is, there's cams out there that'll give it that idle/lope sound and still performI figured on the 318. The 360 is not bad...Have heard, read the same thing on that Camshaft. Mostly show, not much go.
I sure have an interesting Cam in my '69! Sounds kind of tame at idle, but makes over 500HP and Torque! But it has to idle at 1100 RPM!Sad part is, there's cams out there that'll give it that idle/lope sound and still perform
Not with stock valve train. You need to spend money to get a real powered engine.Sad part is, there's cams out there that'll give it that idle/lope sound and still perform
hey, you might find this tad bit interesting. Was doing some research on those EFI kits like FAST or Holley Sniper. Seems they have minor issues running well on dual plan intakes for some reasonI sure have an interesting Cam in my '69! Sounds kind of tame at idle, but makes over 500HP and Torque! I can see that....hey, you might find this tad bit interesting. Was doing some research on those EFI kits like FAST or Holley Sniper. Seems they have minor issues running well on dual plan intakes for some reason
Agreed. My buddy built a +.030 440 for his Bee. Custom grind from Comp, dual plane, headers, reworked cast heads, nothing fancy. Idles nice with vacuum but dyno'd at 496 horse and 520+ torque. Perfect street engine.Sad part is, there's cams out there that'll give it that idle/lope sound and still perform
yeah, i'd love to run efi on the polara but the cost is prohibitive and if there are problems on dual planes, that's not good either.I can see that....
Getting mixed signals?hey, you might find this tad bit interesting. Was doing some research on those EFI kits like FAST or Holley Sniper. Seems they have minor issues running well on dual plan intakes for some reason
yeah, my 408 just has a performer RPM cam in it and it has a nice rumble and lays down 437 hp and 436 ft lbs. its really limited by the heads thoughAgreed. My buddy built a +.030 440 for his Bee. One of the reasons for Direct Injection. Every cylinder is optimized.hey, you might find this tad bit interesting. Was doing some research on those EFI kits like FAST or Holley Sniper. Seems they have minor issues running well on dual plan intakes for some reason
that's the theory.Getting mixed signals?
With a 408, you need some serious flow. The heads on my '69 were heavily re worked.yeah, my 408 just has a performer RPM cam in it and it has a nice rumble and lays down 437 hp and 436 ft lbs. its really limited by the heads though
i may have a trick up my sleeve for that one. question is, does anyone sell a stand alone computer to run a custom setupOne of the reasons for Direct Injection. Every cylinder is optimized.
I am sure they are available, that is all "Tuners" do.i may have a trick up my sleeve for that one. question is, does anyone sell a stand alone computer to run a custom setup
My 64 with a 426 street wedge pulled like a train. Cant beat Mopar Big Block power IMO.Agreed. My buddy built a +.030 440 for his Bee. A friend of mine put a Holley 390 Mini-Muscle (remember those?) on his 318 Duster. Frickin thing would pull tree stumps. He is a asphalt circle track guy. The Duster was his "Street Stock". All that torque really got the Duster off the corners. This will have great low end torque. A teener falls off pretty quick on the top end, Heads. Dont need bigger. IMO.
This Holley I have was designed for that. Low cube engines. Good torque down low, where it matters on the street.A friend of mine put a Holley 390 Mini-Muscle (remember those?) on his 318 Duster. Got my new rear springs yesterday. Wife saw them, What are these? View attachment 1715158356
I hope she does not see the rest of the parts I ordered!

I would rather jet up a small carb than try to jet down a big carb to get it to run right. I love the posts, " I have a stock 318, what carb is best?" Reply" 650 CFM" Bull crap.....I would rather jet up a small carb than try to jet down a big carb to get it to run right. Now there is a limit there.
