Stop in for a cup of coffee

I believe they are catch cans for any oil blow by to be caught and drained later.
Yup. Don't know anything about the setup on that car. All of the others have crossover breather connections. Not sure if that was done in '66 but was on all of the '70 Chrysler entries I've seen photos of.

You guys just tought me something I had no idea that could be done. I always assumed that was welded in.
Actually, they made it so easy, after you have the windshield out, and pull all the small bolts out front. Drop the steering column down, not out. There is a bolt on each kick panel at the lower outer part of the dash. You can loosen those, and the dash will swing down,on pivot points, away from the windshield to access all of the connections...

Ah. Windshield removal, dash off, got it!
At some point the plan is to pull the current windshield and convert to the '68-9 gasket and trim. Its in the 'round to it bin, along with pulling instrument panel, fixing the gages and getting the thing vacuum plated and all that. If I was driving it more, this is the time of year the little nicks in glass are super annoying.

Mitch you've had a convertible. Buddy helping said he usually cuts the windshield gasket with a utility knife, takes the windshield out and then removes the trim. I'm not sure how he gets passed the A pillar trim?? He had a 67 vert said it works. Will be interesting.

There is no way I would cut a convertibles windshield gasket, they are not available in the aftermarket and they are different..

Yup. That was the same for the'67 hardtops and posts as well. Until a few years ago, unavailable new.
Still using the original even though the desert was not the kindest to it. Its been out at least twice since I bought the car in '89 with a cracked windshield. Take the lockstrips out, then it can be pushed out. We put it in (I helped on that) with a 3M sealant. As long lock strips are in, its been holding.

Just playing with some Route 66 images tonight.

So took the windshield trim off and gently pushed it out??

Trying to find the right color for the metal dash area. My body color is EE1 Dark Blue Metallic. It's also called B-7.
Color on the dash now looks lighter closer to a B-5.
Any ideas?? Just want to do it right.

I bought 3 different cans of blue interior paint from Tony's. Lord only knows what color's they used. My swinger is a 35,000 mile car and it has many shades of blue inside.

I wanted it flat on top for reduced glare and slight gloss on face. Use flat Brown Rustoleum Camoflage rattlecan. Lightly buffed areas I wanted shine with white finishing pad.
