It is hard getting old but it is something we must do. My mother is 83 and I called her the other night and her conversation was so messed up I could hardly figure out what she was telling me. And she still lives alone.

Did a little jamming last night with some friends. Just two guitars, drums, and me on bass. After a few beers and pizza, we cut loose for about 4 hours. broke it up about 10:30 last night. Great fun.
3 cups, so far, this morning. A friend brought a door over to the house yesterday, that needs to have the hinges relocated. It's an old door that he found at an antique shop, somewhere. He asked if I can resize it to fit his kitchen entrance, and relocate the hinge gains to match his frame.
Also, the lock will need to be moved to match the frame, too. I will resize the door, blank out the original hinge locations, and mortise in new hinge gains, today for him. I recommended that we not move the lock bore and latch edge, though. It will be much easier and far less noticeable if we blank out the strike prep on the door jamb, and create a new strike on the frame to match the existing lock bore on the door.
So that will be how I spend my afternoon, today.

Sounds like you have it all under control. We live in a 95 year old house and it's fun to examine all the modifications that were done thorough the years. I fixed a pocket door last weekend that was originally a hinged door. The blanks and plugs were barely noticeable.

Would've loved to hear that jam session, sounds like a lot of fun!! I've been doing a lot of recording lately, and getting my son in on it too! He layed down some violin on a song I wrote and put some mandolin on another! He's only 10 but he's got the makings of a great musician! If he'll show me how to digitize the recordings I'll post some here!!

Hello all. Bet that was some good fun jamming last night.
Getting together with a bunch of friends is always fun. On the other hand, getting together with your kids, and sharing some music is just a wonderful thing.
My son played drums for a while. He and I would get together every now and then. He did a couple of recordings with his band, a while back, The bassist they had was a young kid. He was the weak link in the band. My son and the guitarist asked if I could over dub the bass line. It wasn't the classic rock I preferred. to play, though. I was some metal that his band was into. So, I laid down a new bass track for them. That was about 10, or so, years ago. I don't think anyone ever told the bass player. lol... It was essentially the same bass lines, just with a little more punch and a "few more" accents and nuances. But, the think that I liked best was that my son and his friends came to me for the help, even though they know a number of other good bassists.
You're a lucky man, Geof, to be able to play music with your son. That can only gett better with age. :thumbup:

Good Morning FABO! On first of three cups today. My busy season has started so it will be 6 or 7 day a week for me until mid-May. No Barracuda work:-( Just another work day for me today), starting new big project this week and have about 20 peeps waiting on me for instructions. Oh well, comes with the territory. Sure liked the photo of the pup. My Lab Emma was in a particularly affectionate mood last night. Sure makes my days better.

She's 5 months already and just over 21lbs. Got her from an animal rescue. Mom was yellow lab and pretty sure dad was beagle based on the appearance of others in the litter. They thought maybe some Aussie Shepard in the mix as well. She's the only one that looks like a lab. We figure she will end up between 25 and 30 lbs, a ' mini-lab'.

We see that pose a lot. LOL. She just loves to fetch ducky. It's a squeeky toy. She can grab the squeeker part from a full speed run ( not sure how, cause it moves around inside) Then squeeks it non stop while returning for another go at it.

Grandma's improving. she is opening her eyes and can nod, can't talk yet... (can they keep it that way - she can get annoying sometimes... LOL!)
My uncle and cousin are here from VA/Wash DC and my other cousin came in from CA yesterday (her sister). When I talked to them yesterday, they were looking for a dog...
They want a dog to stay with them while they are here as they are dog people and have some at home....
I told them to get a hold of my uncle in town, he's watching grandma's yellow lab mix in addition to having two of his own. (they just lost two dogs in the last year or so from old age).
Nothing like being from a family of animal lovers....
