Stop in for a cup of coffee

Mornin' Ters!

Hey Ben, nice little sewing table! My mom's been sowing (is that the correct word?) all her life and over the last decade she started doing boat covers too. She's selling off her machines now, though. I think she had four industrial machines and she's keeping only one. She says.

I looked at your pictures, Ters. I'm so jealous! My wife and I talked about you yesterday. I bragged about knowing you and since we've been longing to go back to SA for many years, I said we needed to go and visit you when we finally go in two or three years.

Our youngest needs to be a couple of years older before we go. She's only four now and we want her to be able to remember the trip.

I am ready to go to the garage. Looks like it is 50 here so it is bearable.

I've been waiting for my son to wake up all day so we could work on the cars or our math class which he needs to catch up on work, and he goes out with his friends when he gets up...

I gave up earlier and did some of the wiring on his car without him, but would rather he be there to help learn...

His younger brother was up during the day and had a very productive day. He sold his ghost hunting equipment that he no longer uses, and a motorcycle to help get some more money for his 68 Valiant that he put a deposit on while the seller installs a running slant in it so it will be legal for us to keep it outside....

That because of the neighbor? Here a non running car is fine on the property.

Yes, they have to be "running" or at least look like they do from the outside and have current tags, even if in my back yard which is trespassing if they just go back to look, which they do...

On Long Island my bud has like ten Chevy 68 vans in the yard and the neighbor is an *** so he had to register them all then put them in "storage" to make it legal.

They hassled me in Detroit for having cars in my driveway behind my fence without tags...

The "blight cop" was upset when we took them outside of the city to store them at a storage place. He kept trying to convince us to store them in the city... I also got tags from Illinois just to add salt to the wound... Too bad MF, I don't want my cars stripped while they were in storage...

You can make me store them somewhere, but have no right to tell me where... :finga:

I thought that these cars were part of Detroit history, why do the hassle me? One of the blight cops pulled me over down my street to threaten me that if I didn't "follow the rules" and get my cars in running condition, they would break in my front door SWAT style and come get me.... Over some cars in the yard... I was standing outside his car when he was telling me that, but when my son came up to me to listen to what was going on, the cop quickly finished... (he didn't want witnesses to his threatening me like that as that's not allowed wasn't supposed to threaten me with bull ****, but too late, my son heard the whole thing while he was much younger...) I was going through my divorce then and didn't want the cars in full running condition in case the ex was going to be a ***** and try to take them, I would have said, fine, fix them yourself.... Luckily she didn't do that, but you never know...

And they wonder why people there hate the cops.... :???:

I lived on the corner next to an alley and had problems with drug addicts, hookers, and stolen cars being stripped and abandoned in the alley on the side of my house, houses being broken into, one time even gun shots in the alley, and they're worried about a couple of cars sitting in my yard.... :finga:

And they wonder why the city of Detroit is a ****-hole.... #-o

I will! I would very much enjoy meeting you too! I'm afraid it's going to be a few years yet, like I said, though. Also, we're calculation something like $15k for the whole trip so it's going to take some saving up ...

ok,now a tree trimming bucket truck just pulled up to the house next to me. I heard the engine and beep when it backed up... Then they get out and start walking up the neighbor's drive way with flash lights...

One showed up earlier tonight at 8 PM and was just sitting there.. Now another one comes...

Just called to report it to the police here, and it appears that they are contractors from the power company to clear trees from the lines that the winds two days ago may have blown over... But why do they come at 4 AM??? Everyone on the block has power...
