I better get out of this chair and run to the store and pick up a few things before the heat moves in, Thanks Ben ! I wish I was closer Treva won't be up for another hour or so, Memike is off....... Munchies are kicking in real bad now ................... you know !! like they did back in the 70'es

What have you been smoking???? Munchies....

I was looking under a Kia Sorento the other day (don't worry I showered to wash all the rice off)

And to my surprise the rear end is a front drop out just like a 8 3/4 or ford 9 inch ......interesting to say the least

I think the Durango are close from what I have seen but you have to weld spring perches on them, forgot what years, and the jeep 35 is definitely wider, but all the guts fit in a 2.45 8 1/4 and lower carrier. There is a ton of info in the 8 1/4 thread Memi and I are doing.
You cant find 8 1/4 diffs out there? They do pop up around here not often but do. I will not pay more than $200 for them with the shock plates.

I wonder what other rear ends are out there and readily available that would take a 360's wrath ...ford 8.8 ??

Kinda sucks.. grab a 7.25 and slap it in there and keep shopping. 8.25s show up every now and then. I feel fortunate to have an 8.25 for the Dart and a 8.75 for the Barracuda. Now if could only get them installed!

My 73 dart has a BBP 7 1/4 because it always was a disc brake car with a 318/ auto but with a 360 ....probably won't last long

If you do a 8.25 right they are good to 500 hp easy. Just have to use quality components.

How about a Chrysler 8.8??? (8 3/4 to be exact)...
People tend to think an 8 3/4 is a retirement plan these days .

There is one on cl local to me with no price. Then you call it and the dude is like " its worth 2k easy to a road runner guy"

Its an a- body unit with sbp and 3.23 open.

The 7.25 will do just fine unless you plan to pound on it. It'll last a lot longer than you think under normal usage. Should give you time to find something beefier. And you won't need a new driveshaft..
