Munchies are kicking in real bad now ................... you know !! like they did back in the 70'es![]()
Gotta Go.... Be back later ....

Kinda sucks.. grab a 7.25 and slap it in there and keep shopping. 8.25s show up every now and then. I feel fortunate to have an 8.25 for the Dart and a 8.75 for the Barracuda. Now if could only get them installed!well dammit then that is going to be a problem
The 8.8 from an explorer (cut the tube and use 2 short-side axles) seems the most economical way to go.. and get disc brakes in the process.I wonder what other rear ends are out there and readily available that would take a 360's wrath ...ford 8.8 ??

I laid it out there for you..I could "That's what she said" you for that, but I won't....
People tend to think an 8 3/4 is a retirement plan these days .How about a Chrysler 8.8??? (8 3/4 to be exact)...
The 7.25 will do just fine unless you plan to pound on it. It'll last a lot longer than you think under normal usage. Should give you time to find something beefier. And you won't need a new driveshaft..My 73 dart has a BBP 7 1/4 because it always was a disc brake car with a 318/ auto but with a 360 ....probably won't last long
Thats about a $600 unit at most.People tend to think an 8 3/4 is a retirement plan these days .
There is one on cl local to me with no price. Then you call it and the dude is like " its worth 2k easy to a road runner guy"
Its an a- body unit with sbp and 3.23 open.
I always thought the 8 1/4 is way under rated .....people used to throw them away for no good reasonIf you do a 8.25 right they are good to 500 hp easy. Just have to use quality components.
