You should be good just "skip" the welds so the panel does not warp from the heat.

I have some, the air force used to toss them after so many uses. Tike you going to but weld it or overlap it?

years ago I used self tapping sheet metal screws to hold everything in place - then I was at a swap meet and discovered the clecos... well I'll be a skunned skunk... LOL

even with the weld thru primer I still clean off the actual weld line with a scratch brush after I tack it in place. Just so the overlapped areas that you can't get at later are covered. You can weld through it, but I think you get a cleaner weld if the arc sees clean metal.

Just rind the weld down where you want them then prime both sides and you will be fine for sure. We want pics!

Never did a full/large panel. Usually use magnets.

magnets are good for smaller jobs but can(and probably will) slip at just the wrong moment with a bigger job

That's a long drive to look at tarps. Some of that stuff has been out in the rain for 50 years but now they want to cover it with a tarp.
