Stop in for a cup of coffee

You should be good just "skip" the welds so the panel does not warp from the heat.

I have some, the air force used to toss them after so many uses. Tike you going to but weld it or overlap it?
years ago I used self tapping sheet metal screws to hold everything in place - then I was at a swap meet and discovered the clecos... well I'll be a skunned skunk... LOL

I'm pretty comfortable and satisfied with the job so far. I just don't want to do this again because it rusted out.

even with the weld thru primer I still clean off the actual weld line with a scratch brush after I tack it in place. Just so the overlapped areas that you can't get at later are covered. You can weld through it, but I think you get a cleaner weld if the arc sees clean metal.

That makes sense

I may just make this trip worth while and go get breakfast too. So I am going to sneak out of here
