Good morning, day OFF feels so grrreat, waking up slowly with my feet in some warm Epsom salts. Ray, the Popmobile is so plush.
now that'd be coolBitching betty really loud, yells out the issue with usually a master caution light and also the issue light, at least on the aircraft I worked on.
If you are going to do all of that, you might as well adapt a modern Mopar PCM with OBDII and 8.4" LCD display that can monitor everything and warn when faults are detected. It will also monitor and display all operating parameters, pressures, temperatures and capacity levels from the number of pints of fuel to the tire pressure.
If he does go obd II they make HUD units for them also now that would be cool.
But it still smells like a fireplace!!!Ray, the Popmobile is so plush.
Yeah Chris, you definitely want to look into the Modern Mopar OBDII with the 8.4 LCD screen. It can do a helluva lot more than just monitor stuff...

Dang, miles of wire to feed all that.@halifaxhops
this is what I'm wanting to setup for caution/warning lights:
High Water Temp (In Dash)
High Oil Temp (In Dash)
Low oil pressure (In Dash)
Low fuel pressure (In Dash)
Low Voltage (In Dash)
Fire detection(added that this morning, good idea) (In Dash)
Gauges I shall be running: Yes, its a TON of gauges. Like I said, space shuttle.
- Tach (In dash)
- Speedo (In Dash)
- Voltage (Console)
- Water Temp (Console)
- Oil Temp (Console)
- Oil Pressure (Console)
- Fuel Pressure (Console)
- Exhaust temp Left side (Console)
- Exhaust Temp Right side (Console)
- Trans temp (Console)
- Rear Diff Temp (Console)
- Fuel Level cell 1 (Console)
- fuel level cell 2 (Console)
- Incoming Air Temp (Console)
- Brake Temp Front (Console)
- Brake Temp Rear (Console)
yeah... I know....View attachment 1715039505

You don't need to enable traction and stability control, but you can use it to control the engine and have it do it the way you want. For example, in my SRT it adapts the fuel trim and spark to optimize performance based on the inlet air temperature so that you are always in perfect A/F ratio and with the knock sensors it will adapt the timing so that you never have detonation regardless of the condition or octane of the fuel. Essentially it can optimize performance and protect the engine.
now that is cool..... back to drawing board to rethink. I just dont want it to have control of anything is the problem. I don't want it tuning the engine or controlling the braking/steering etc
But if you just pull the harness from a modern Mopar, it's all there to connect to the sensors for you.View attachment 1715039505

the Holley EFI will do that too.You don't need to enable traction and stability control, but you can use it to control the engine and have it do it the way you want. Chris, the other thing is that the brake assist and stability control in my SRT are 3 level selectable with a button on the dash. Full on, partially off (controlled wheel spin and drifting allowed) and full off.
You just need to install the parts from a modern Mopar. The PCM computer does the controlling and there is a g-force accelerometer placed in the center of the car that detects yaw and pitch in 3 dimensions. The brakes are controlled by the PCM through a proportioning valve block that controls the hydraulic fluid pressure to each wheel. Everything else is a standard master cylinder and calipers. The 3 level selector is just a dash switch connected to the PCM.the Holley EFI will do that too.
how the heck would I get that to work in a 74 dart......
in other words, I need to find a wreck SRT8 to do it.... It's intriguing idea, and something to considerYou just need to install the parts from a modern Mopar. The whole system is really very simple.

It's actually the same system on all of the Chargers, not just the SRT. It's just that the SRT has the PCM that allows the 3 level control. You can get the harnesses and all of the parts out of any wrecked Charger and then get a PCM from an SRT.in other words, I need to find a wreck SRT8 to do it.... nice. just curious about the interface though. I've already got my brake setup and i don't know if it'd work..... research timeIt's actually the same system on all of the Chargers, not just the SRT. well - I'm here and here are some pics - very little info on the interweb..

so WTF do you do!? I have no need or room for all this chit and the Mopar stuff isn't "OMG wow" - the choke assemblies are all 6 cyl. stuff and the rebuild kit is cool but so what?
your call, if you do decide, i wouldn't go more than 100 bucks for the whole dang thingto me, it's not worth the time it'll take to figure out which shocks are for what and what calipers fit what..
See if you can grab the dizzy rebuild kit for a couple of bucks. It's for '72 and up V8 w/ electronic ignition. They go for $20. Hoppy will want it I'm sure.so WTF do you do!?
