Stop in for a cup of coffee

Decisions, decisions. I've been looking for a TIG welder for a long time. Just found one twenty minutes away ant a great price, 8 years old, used once. A serious machine, HF start, slope up and down adjustment.

But. Appears to NOT be AC.

So, do I buy a barely used one that can do half of what I want to be able to do - at a great price ($500 as opposed to 1,500) or wait to find a beater that has AC too? 'cause a new-ish AC TIG welder is NOT below $2k.

i'd grab it up, you can always keep looking and sell that one if you find a better one.

I'm a very spur-of-the-moment kind of guy, much to my wife's dismay. I just might. I think I need to research it a little first, though.

The thing is, I can buy a brand new Stanley TIG, DC-only, really simple kind for $500. This is MUCH more sophisticated, alu welding or not.

She's a very pretty Italian girl and hits the gym 5 days a week! It's hard not to stare. Not sure I can keep up with this at 51. But man, I so want to ask her out.
Ask her out somewhat jokingly... That way she can play along and see where it goes.. or she can turn you down without it being awkward.. Always a safe way to go.. And if she has daddy issues, you're golden!!! I envy you..

Probably. Might even get to the 11's Then it might be a rules violation even if hardtop.
A few years ago I drove my 60 Corvette to the local drag strip. No hardtop on at the time. Just had the convert. top up at the time. 1st pass 11.30.... Ha, Ha, They told me not to come back without a roll bar..LOL

Hey mitch......

Any one know if roll bar has to be permanent or can it be removable? In a convertible would be easy to get it out. Just pin it in.

To a certain speed, it can be removable(that or simply hide the connection in foam padding or something)
