Yeah, cool part is being in the heart of Dodge Ram country, I could get a Dana 60 for about that. Then it'd be a couple hundred bucks to narrow it.

Sounds like the Dart project is never going to get done now. All attention is on the Polara.

have it cut down by a quality machine shop, then order a set of axles from moser, custom made to fit whatever length you want. Roughly 370 bucks, a 150-200 to cut it down. Then order whatever brake kit you want.

No, Dart is priority. I just want the polara to roll. Right now, I can't move it without dragging it with a trator cause the right rear drum is siezed. I've hit it with a sledge today after I got the old rim off and it still is siezed. Gonna have to pull it. I say disc conversion or Dana 60 swap, I'm talking in an "eventually" sense. You may have missed my earlier post about finishing the panel replacements on the dart this year. I want it in primer and ready for block sanding by nice fall.

No, Dart is priority. I just want the polara to roll. Right now, I can't move it without dragging it with a trator cause the right rear drum is siezed. Yeah...right. And you are going to spend time tomorrow getting details on a rear disc set up for the Polara instead of thinking about the Dart.

Can't be moved huh? I thought you said you already had it in the shop up on a lift and then moved it back out.

Just admit it, you have Polara on the brain and the Dart is just vague getting lip service. :poke:

Oh it can be moved..... by tractor. I can move anything by tractor lol. I wanna be able to roll it. And yes it was up on the lift however briefly. And I'm not calling Cass just for a disc setup . I'm calling him with a list of questions that I'm gathering mixed information on, for example, can I put a 489 third member in this 8.75 ? Some say yes, some say no because of the thrust blocks used in some pre 64 axles. I need to know how to know if I can or not....

And the dart got some attention today too. Mainly in taking measurements to cut the bracing I'll be having cut in order to cut the floor pans out
 
Speaking of cutting. Does anyone know how to figure out what band saw blade I need on an old horizontal band saw? It's a Kalimazoo but no data plate to identify the model

Check McMaster-Carr's catalog.

If I remember rightly they have all the measurements you need to take to get the right one.

Yeah, why didn't the youngest guy in the thread think of that? Oh wait, I did..... you realize how many different sizes of horizontal band saws that company made?! Without knowing the model number, that does me no good.

OK, Smartass. I never said you would find a size chart on a silver platter. Maybe try something like 'how to size a bandsaw blade' ?

Well.... I tried that too...... I don't even have the old band to measure........ grandfather bought this at an auction for 35 bucks.
 
I guess I have access to a different internet than you. Here's one from Detroitbandsaw.com

If you do not have an existing blade, there is a mathematical equation to help determine saw blade length in inches.

  1. Fix the pulleys or wheels into working position
  2. In inches, determine the distance from the center hub on the upper and lower band wheels (later referred to as “C”)
  3. In inches, determine the radius of each wheel. The radius is the measurement from the center hub to the outside of the wheel (later referred to as “R1 and R2”)
  4. Apply the following formula: (R1 x 3.1416) + (R2 x 3.1416) + (2 x C) = Saw blade length

Any body ever back off the tension and wrap a rope or wire around the pulleys and measure. You can also measure the old blade with a tape measure too. No rocket science here.
 
I have a pair of shoes that need laces. I think they are bigger than average, but smaller than some.
If it helps, they are sneakers and are mostly white. ​
Can you guys help me figure out what I need? Oh, I may also need help tying them once I get them laced.
