Not all 'Bondo'/filler is the same. Some are intended for "DTM' direct to metal. So, watch that if you have layers of other stuff on there. I tried to keep my car to 1/8th inch or less. But instead of trying to lay it on perfect - I lay on a bit more than needed and use a grater file as soon as it sets up to easily shape it. For a final smooth finish use this stuff. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005RNEZQ0/?tag=fabo03-20 Two part mix- like thin filler. Will take care of imperfections and deep scratches. If you are already very close you could just skip the filler.Hey guys I’m looking for some bondo advice. I’m in the process of doing the steering column modification. I’ve cut off the shift indicator housing and the column shifter mount and filled the unnecessary holes with JB weld. I’m finishing the second round of sanding and smoothing today. Next will be bondo to do the finishing touches and smooth it all out. I have had absolutely 0 experience with bondo and would appreciate ANY advice!
