Stop in for a cup of coffee

You sound like my dad, he welded mostly TIG as well. Would pretty regularly get small production runs of small aluminum boxes weld together - Thin sheet but always TIG. Just had to have it set up right and move quickly. I could do the welding OK once it was set up - but not good enough to be trusted with the actual job.
He had two TIG welders, atomic-hydrogen, arc, gas, and one MIG dedicated to filling aluminum castings. Those jobs came in frequently enough, that's what the machine was for - nothing else. View attachment 1715266045
Hah! I love welding aluminum and magnesium! I just got done modifying a CAI for a gen 3 I am stuffing in the Demon. I had to grind off the chrome then the primer, not much left after that. But it just would not fit otherwise. I have root pass basically done then I will do a "pretty" cover pass next. More pix are on build thread.

That's cool.
And you'll always have work if you want it! :)
Now I just mostly trade welding with like minded guys for whatever their skill is. My Brother ran a HD motorcycle shop for years and I did all the welding on the side. Folks just didn't recognize the equipment investment and years of experience it took to weld up their broken cast aluminum parts etc etc. We would hand them the part and the bill and they would not be happy. I got to the point that I just didn't need the practice! I would reply to them yes it only took me 40 mins to weld your part, but it took me twenty years to learn how to do it in 40 mins.

OMFG! The pain in my tooth is beyond compare.

I can’t take NSAIDs due to severe GI irritation and I refuse to take any sort of opiate pain killers.

This is a sheer battle of will to fight through the pain. I drank 3 shots of bourbon and it didn’t even touch it. :(

This sucks.

Man that bites! You might try some clove oil and or some turmeric. Much as I like to talk bourbon smack it likely is not gonna help here. Clove oil is a good bet. Just plain suks cuz the food and munchies are out of control this time of year.

Damn.......So sorry to hear.....Hang in there......

I TIG for a living but to Mattax point it can be less handy on sheet metal than a wire feed. You will never know how it hurts me to admit anything good about wire feeders as I have earned a living repairing and or replacing broken wire feed welds!
IME experience, those kinds of welds did not use enough heat....

Good morning and Merry Christmas to you and all the family you will be with this day, have a groovy day my friend

Thanks and same to you.
For some odd reason i think it would be fun to have grandkids at this point in my life.
My neighbour stopped in, his 14 year old grandson was driving him around in the rav4 i helped him fix up. The kid was having a blast, i think grampa was too.

Ready for my 2nd cup. Momma just got up so i guess it begins.
