Stop in for a cup of coffee

Snow stopped early and sun csme out, but wind is starting.
-30 by new year’s eve...

We might get a mix of precip today or tomorrow. We should have left for home this morning but the wife needs to have a few more days off. She worked from here this morning making corrections to the audit. Her work is never done.

Cold and windy. 35 but feels like 23 with the wind chill. The wind has died down now but this morning you could have done some sand blasting out there.

Time for a small cup before embarking on dinner.
Something or somebody had traffic at a standstill on the street I needed.

Probably a university project.

First attempt to outflank looked promising. Tried to use google maps - it has a new3d map feature

How useless.
Powered it off at the first chance. H'm, now that I'm thinking about it - I think its still where I tossed it in the truck.

When nobody moves after the light has gone through a full cycle, its time to do a U-eey.

The next wider circuit was smooth sailing past 38th Street.

Today I swapped alternator halves back to their original assemblies.
Broke the solderer connections in one.:BangHead:
Both have bad rotors and would need some other minor work anyway.

Fixed the field terminal and installed my last alternator that still charges and doesn't squeal.
Squeal seems to be coming from the brushes???
Not a bad day.

I am with the toolman! Sometimes ya just have to dump the whole coffee can of misc bolts out! Screw it I am done for the day.

Had to zoom in. That’s quite a variety.
I shaped a v-shaped piece of sheet metal, left narrow end open.
I dump the bucket of bolts into it, sort or pick what i want and its easy to dump back into container.

Why is it, no matter what little piece you are looking for is the hardest to find??
Its like it knows and hides...

Fail!
When you need a vehicle, simply do the repair.
Do not make excuses or try to rationalize how it will be so much better with _______________.
I have to tear the engine all the way down. I don’t have a backup option right now or it would. If it needs a whole new engine, the hemi swap is actually cheaper and involves little more work than a new engine.

Good evening folks. Kind of a rough day here.

The Oral surgeon can’t see me before next Thursday (the other ones were a week after that) and it’s just for the initial evaluation.

Then I went and finalized my Father’s financial holdings. He left me a nice sum of money, but I would give it all to have him back as he was when we had fun together fishing and laughing.

After all that, I created this to help me focus on joy...and find some in my soul.

Yeah I hear ya. If only we could do that. I’d give almost anything to have my uncle back or my grandfather.

Dave, you were fortunate to have a relationship with your dad.
He’s part of the reason you are who you are today.
My dad passed at 53,i was 19.
We werent getting along at that point.

you can keep telling yourself that, but its just the first shovels in the hole. View attachment 1715267289
If you'ld done before and you had a doner vehicle sitting next to yours, it would be a different path.
Yep will be a lot tougher then just rebuilding the existing engine, or just swap in a known good engine...Of same type...

True words.
We don't always get to appreciate other people, including our parents, until its too late.
I know that won't stop the grieving; not meant that way at all. Just a way to look forward with the loss.
