Stop in for a cup of coffee

@halifaxhops
Ray will looking last night, I also found my original (complete as best I can tell) Carter AVS.
I guess I ought to rebuild it and put it on the car.
Then it WILL be as stock as it can be.
Everyone said to send it to Harmes, but they are $$
As long as the throttle shafts aren't worn you should be good.

Hoppy was doing carbs before he became Mr Sunshine... Also RRR has done many...

yep, but I bet I'll have total some 10-15 grand in my dart and it wont be worth near what a restored 100% hemi E body will be
I think its usually all relative. Ebodies overspend even more and still can't sell for what they got in them unless it's a numbers car with desirable original combo.

I woke up earlier than I wanted this morning... To the sound of the dog throwing up in the bed next to me. All on the wifes electric blanket (she was out in the kitchen I think) Happy Monday! LOL

Not a good way to start the week.

Must be some truth to that "Red sky at morning" thing. Rain possibilities have advanced a couple days. Now Wednesday, and Friday Saturday is looking mighty soggy. Another racing opportunity down the storm drain :BangHead:

Friend of mine had a couple Challengers at different times 340 TA and a Hemi after he got through welding school and had a real job. The TA, he was racing it at a "fan participation" event, and not the first time, guy walked up made him an offer that was too good to refuse. The Hemi we put some work into it but not a lot, sent the bottom end to KB to be gone through. Nothing out of the ordinary. Advertised it in Hot Rod Mag $10K, never got a call. Year later guy calls "Still got that Challenger? I'll be there Saturday." Guy shows up "Will it run long enough to get it in the trailer?" " Don't you want to test drive it?" " Nope, load it up" Hands Mike $10K in cash and back to Texas he went.

I had a couple pretty nice E bodies in my past, who knew they would be gold now?

Ah yes, back in the day. A friend bought a 68 Hemi Roadrunner for $2500. He is really kicking himself for selling that one.

I only had one. 71 Cuda. Was only a 318 car, but....

Can we talk about something happier now. Like mistreated puppies. Or people that steal candy from children....lol

That was late 70s. Frickin thing was what? 6 7 years old? Another friend's dad had a Hemi Roadrunner that he had bought from a marine on his way to SE Asia, paid next to nuthin for it. Sleeper City, it had the Hemi emblems in the little fake hood scoops, auto Column Shift, bench seat, hub caps. I drive over there one day to see friend, Hemi is gone, '72 Dart more door in it's place. "Mr B? Where is the Roadrunner?" "I sold it Alex, got $1500 for it." "And you didn't tell me you were selling it?" " What would you do with that car? The gas mileage isn't that great and gas is $.50/gallon now."

Just wanted to say good morning as I usually do, last day to be out in the shop today, going to get very cold here tonight and tomorrow teens at night and mid 20 for the high. Do a few things to Victoria today, what ! well I may work on a console and see what can be dun to smooth out the top plate and clove box lid, site in my nephews rifle and call it a day, everyone have a good day your way

Yep, people thought different about them. Just cars back then. Through the 80's you could go to any yard and find ebody parts. Had 3 '71 cuda grills in my basement at one point.

Yep, wish I had a shed back then. Still not worth a fortune but worth 10 x what I paid for it. (at least)

Paid 1200.00 for a 71 340 challanger in 1979! 4 speed, pistol grip shifter, black with white int, perfect condition. Gone!

I like Challengers/Cudas as much as the next guy, but they're a kinda "In your face" kinda ride. Not that I would turn one down if the right circumstance presented itself. I don't live to find one.
